Why do I trust Airtel?

Update

Airtel turned out to be yet another of the crappy Indian companies which do not care about their customers. The Airtel Fair Usage Policy is turning out to be a disaster. And their IPTV service is turning out to be an expensive beta service with me as one of the sufferers.

I am a sucker for Airtel branded services. Except for mobile services though. I am happy with Tata Indicom there (shocking!).

Airtel has been a godsend for me when it comes to broadband services. They came when I was struggling to cope up with the shocks of Sify Broadband.

And since then, it has been a wonderful journey.

Zee Dish TV and CNBC-TV18/CNN-IBN Madness

The mess gets ever bigger. It’s old news that CNBC TV18 made their package a paid on and requires me to pay Rs. 25 extra each month on Zee Dish TV.

The problem is that Zee would not let me upgrade to a pack which comes WITH this CNBC TV18 package.

So, they require me to call in ‘every’ month to add this package to my basic package.

EVEN WHEN I say that I need this add-on package on a permanent basis. They simply do not have a mechanism for me to implement it.

I think I would switch back to cable after the current payments are used up in Zee Dish TV. This is a total failure of user-friendliness.

Zee Dish TV dishhomepick Service

First I cannot find a way to update my package from Dish Maxi to Dish Maxi Plus.

So, I tried their dishhomepick number for Gurgaon. The number listed on their website where you can call to get some dude to visit your house to renew your connection.

I found the number for Gurgaon and called it. Just to receive another number. I am now trying to get through this new number.

I do not get it. Why cannot you keep updated numbers on your website? Why the hell not?

Update: Ok. The second number did not help. The dude on this number gave me a third number. Trying that now. No one is picking up the phone! :)
