Would install Ubuntu on the Laptop today!

I had fun playing with KDE4 on Dr. Puri’s laptop. So, what do I do? Make some space on my laptop and prepare to install Ubuntu using Wubi. That’s what I am going to do today.

Tada! Let’s hope wireless and webcam works. I have little hope on that Creative Webcam I have… Broadcom Wi-Fi? Again little hope. :)

I am not alone!

Just noticed that someone else around my new place has a wireless network…

This just proves that people today are so busy with their own lives that they have no idea who lives in the house next to theirs!

Wireless Networks

I guess I now need to use a harder password on my router to make sure I do not end up leaking my precious bandwidth to someone else…

How many of you guys can catch someone else’s wi-fi network sitting in your own house? :D

Wireless Electricity

Wireless Electricity is one of the things that could make our lives more convenient. A lot of work is being done on making this possible. WiTricity is one of the projects being worked on upon by MIT scientists.

However, if we look at the Wi-Fi connectivity of today… How funny it would be if your computer looses power and restarts because the connection was lost just for a second? ;)

New Delhi Railway Station

I went to the New Delhi Railway Station today to pick dad and mom. Was my first time alone. Actually, things were better than I had expected. I found decent parking facilities in ‘VIP Parking’ facility which cost me 50 bucks (IGI Airport parking costs 60 bucks).

Found the platform I wanted to visit easily. Found dad and mom easily. The most surprising part was that I saw a banner claiming that the railway premises were Wi-Fi enabled! And there were no mentions of any charges. So, if you had a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or a PDA, you could have (I believe) surfed the net for free!

Anyone of you ever tested this free service at the railway stations of India?
