3G license for Gurgaon?

Last time I checked Tata DOCOMO, Idea and Vodafone had 3G licenses for Haryana.

I assumed that applied to Gurgaon too.

But this tweet from the Tata DOCOMO team is rather mmm surprising.

@Sushubh Yes, we DO have the licence 4 Haryana, but not for Gurgaon! #3GLifeless than a minute ago via web

Gurgaon is considered part of Delhi NCR above Haryana?

That means Airtel, Reliance and Vodafone are going to serve in Gurgaon?

@FailTel takes over from @AirtelPR

Yey… The madness is back online. @AirtelPR disappeared sometime ago. But we now have a new account that takes care of taking care of Airtel on the Twitter network.

For Vodafone users, there is @ChodafoneIN!

Airtel and Vodafone both accepting Apple iPhone 3G bookings

Airtel and Vodafone seem to be playing a funny game with Indian customers.

None of these two companies have revealed the prices or launch date for the iPhone.

Airtel became the first one to allow customers to get some details through a SMS service.

Vodafone then became the first company to accept bookings for the iPhone.

Now Airtel has launched its own booking service for the Apple iPhone.

It’s not really booking considering customers would not ‘book’ the iPhone unless they know the prices, launch data and packages.

They are just collecting information on customers whom they can spam in the future with details on the iPhone.

Stupid PR tactics.

Apple wants us to go to Hong Kong for iPhone 3G

Apple is funny when it comes to India. They have confirmed the iPhone 3G for India. They have even made an iPhone 3G page on the Apple India website.

The only thing is that the company expects me to go to Hong Kong to get my iPhone.

Apparently, as per Apple… Hong Kong is just somewhere around my house…

Look at this screenshot from the Apple iPhone 3G India page…

Apple is forgetting that they need to mention that I would need a passport, a visa, and a return air ticket to get an iPhone from Hong Kong. They are also forgetting to mention that the iPhone I would get from there would not be the 3G edition and would cost me international roaming while I am here in India.
