Great. Tata Nano was launched today and their website is already down. It is powered with Joomla! Whoa. That sounds interesting.
Government on Tata Nano project
Information and Broadcasting minister P R Dasmunshi on Tuesday said Tatas should have to make “some sacrifice” in the interest of the affected land losers at Singur.
OMG. The government wants a private company to look at interests of farmers who were probably screwed by the government itself.
I want government to make some sacrifices and concentrate on providing the basic necessities to the people of India.
Why not begin by providing safe drinking water to these farmers first? Or make sure their kids get proper education? Or make sure zillions of other things before they tell a private body to make sacrifices!
Haryana CM wants Tata Nano in Gurgaon
Read this news where Bhupinder Singh Hooda is now inviting Tata to set up their Nano plant here in Gurgaon.
We know how the chief ministers of Haryana love to extort money out of companies which are interested in investing in any location that is closer to the capital city.
But I had like our CM to concentrate on providing decent infrastructure to existing companies and the people of the city before he invites any more guests.
Suzuki and Tata Nano
I keep hearing reports that Suzuki has been claiming that the upcoming Tata’s Rs. 1 lakh car would not be safe enough for the drivers in the Indian market.
Agreed it would not have the latest safety features like airbags or traction control. But it would definitely have seat belts on all the four seats.
Something even Maruti 800 and other products from the company never had until the government made them compulsory.
And have you ever traveled in a Maruti Van? The Omni model from the same company. How safe do you think it is?

Where is the parking space for all these new cars you plan to sell?
How safe are they going to be?
Is it safe enough to be sold in Europe/USA?
Would you provide Air Bags as an option?
What about ABS and other safety features?
Would it have the same quality issues Indica and Indigo currently has?
How efficient would be the service and support network?
