Stanley Ka Dabba

Amole Gupte was the creative director of Taare Zameen Par. And you would notice a lot of similarities in these two movies. In fact, I can literally call it a sequel to Taare Zameen Par but there are some major differences.

The movie does not have a happy ending. You end up realizing that it is more of a documentary promoting a noble cause.

The ending is pretty abrupt. Especially after you notice Raj Zutshi entering the scene around the interval. His entry feels similar to how Aamir Khan made an entry in TZP. But his role is rather absurd with no substance.

The movie is well shot but it still feels incomplete. This tells me that it was good that Aamir Khan had his way in TZP because that movie turned out to be a much better product in the end. I had like to know what you felt about this movie in case you have seen it. If you have not, I suggest you do!

Three Idiots Review!

So, I saw Three Idiots last night. Aamir Khan continues to remain in a preaching mode. Rang De Basanti talked about how to (or not to!) protest against the mess created by the government. Taare Zameen Par was about how not to treat small kids who are studying in schools. And 3 Idiots is all about how not to handle your child’s future when he enters the college.

U, Me Aur Hum (Review!)

A movie with a stupid name. Ajay Devgan directs it. Acts in it and has his wife accompany him in this disastrous venture.

The movie could have been a better product if it was executed well. It has all the elements of a decent movie but poor direction made it a very bad product.

Ajay Devgan needs to act more sanely. He plays a psychiatrist but ended up emulating Aamir Khan of Mann.

He is a doctor but behaves like a health counselor bored with his job while he is working with his patients.

Taare Zameen Par

Excellent movie. Brilliantly done. Had some boring parts but overall it is a great effort by Aamir Khan (first movie directed officially!).

The kid does an amazing job. Easily manages to outdo even Aamir (reminds me of Black where the little girl outdid Amitabh Bachchan)…

But it was pretty much expected considering Aamir would want to give more focus on the primary character in the movie.

I would suggest that you go and check this movie out. Parents should watch this movie. Teachers should watch this movie. I guess it should be shown in schools as part of the extracurricular activity.

Taare Zameen Par

Just one thing… I would now really hate it if kids and dudes start sporting Mohawks… It really does not look good.
