Airtel Broadband: From must get to must avoid

Airtel shows its laziness with AirtelLive.com

Airtel decides to launch a portal for their customers.

But, instead of making and developing something in-house, it looks like they just opened an account at Google Apps and made a customized startup page for their customers.

The company says that with their collaboration with Google, Airtel customers would get access to a variety of Google powered services.

Services which I can access with my own free Gmail account.

The company further says that they are collaborating with content providers like shaadi.com and others to provide content.

I read that as we show their ads and we get money. You are the sucker here.

Sify had the guts to launch their own internet portable optimized for broadband users. Sadly, they never could provide decent broadband to their customers.

MTNL allows you to advertise on their website

I went to the MTNL website to see what kind of IPTV services they are offering to their customers. And I saw this link:

Advertise on MTNL Website

The last time I checked, MTNL was a government organization. And a pretty important one too. So, I can now purchase advertising on a government owned website!

What’s next? Maybe the President of India’s website. That would be so totally awesome. Airtel should go and purchase some advertising on MTNL’s website.
