Reliance Retail Stores continue to disappoint

I had shop for my niece today. It’s her birthday today. We decided to checkout Reliance Time Out which has a pretty big dedicated section for kid stuff.

Funny enough, the entire section had just 3 decent sized stuffed toys. One of which (the one we liked) was in filthy condition. They had no extra pieces. The ones on display were the ones on sale.

We bought some stationary items from there. There were 5-6 billing counters. How many were functional? One. It took them 15 minutes to process our order. Why? The bar code machine was not working properly.

Then we went to Reliance Digital to check out digital photo frames. Two guys I asked had no idea what I was talking about. The third dude confirmed that they do not carry them.

The sheer amount of investments they have done in these stores… They should have hired better people to interact with shoppers.

Reliance Fresh FAIL

The Reliance Fresh store in my sector always disappoints me. Today was no different.

I went there to get some stuff. I saw a board saying that they are running a scheme where I can get 2 Nike Deodorants for the price of one.

I went to that counter and told the guy to give me the 2 units that are covered by that scheme.

He gives me two Nike Deodorants.

I then go to the payment counter. The machine refuses to accept the discount and shows me the bill for both the units.

I checked with the guy on the Deo counter and the end result was that he removed the discount sign from his stall because the system was either malfunctioning or not programmed to give out the discount itself.

Excellent.

Reliance Fresh in Sector 31 Gurgaon

We have major construction work going on a medium sized plot in the market in our sector. Dad told me that this is likely to be a Reliance project. Either it is going to become an outlet for Reliance Retail or it could be one of their outlets for the vegetable market.

Maybe in the next couple of months… we would be purchasing our vegetables and fruits from Reliance. Bharti gotta do something fast if they want to become a retailing giant in India. We already have a Subhiksha outlet in the sector.

Update: It’s open now and it has been a complete mess for me. I cannot find my brand of deodorant. The payment counters are many but only 1 or 2 are being used at any given time. Reliance Fresh staff is busy chitchatting amongst themselves instead of helping the customers.

Reliance resQ and Reliance Digital are Hopeless

They promise you the world. They charge you for it. And they deliver nothing.

Or else what would explain their inability to install one simple LCD Television? Four days and the television set is yet not installed. I called them up, no reply back.

I went to their store once more. Took them 40 minutes to tell me that they are sending an ‘engineer’ right now with the necessary equipment (for another model as they do not have the part for the TV that they sold me).

Here I am at home still waiting for them to arrive so that they can install the bastard and get me free from their clutches.

A suggestion, Reliance is hopeless when it comes to customer support. Anil Ambani cannot do that with his Reliance Communications, Mukesh Ambani cannot do that with his Reliance Retail. The whole Reliance Scenario is a disappointment.

I am tired of installation people who act more like extended warranty sales guys. IFB had this problem. Now Reliance Digital has the same problem.
