You might have heard this already. Airtel Broadband is the official broadband sponsor of the YouTube streaming of the Indian Premier League matches.
The company is offering free 2mbps streaming for all their customers on the IPL channel on YouTube.
Time Warner Cable has just announced that they are discarding their plans for metered billing.
I am getting more and more signs that BSNL broadband has collaborated with some net filtering company to block access for their users to a list of websites.
People are reporting that they are unable to access perfectly normal websites.
It is similar to how some types of websites are blocked in your office because they are deemed to make the employees unproductive.
But BSNL Broadband is for home users who should have the freedom to access whatever they want. Even if it’s the crappiest, most unsafest places on the web.
Television has become crap with the DTH mess, too much advertising, expensive paid channels, crap content…
Internet is somewhat better as you control the advertisements and the things you want to see or check out at any given time.
But things are apparently not going to last this good in the future.
Check this video for something that we have feared since some time now. Maybe, I would have an offline life sometime in the future and internet would no longer be the cool thing anymore.
