Delhi Belly
Fascinating movie. I could not however understand why this name. The movie is based in Delhi alright. But it has nothing to do with Delhi. Maybe it is a reference to the Just Mohabbat who had a messed up belly throughout the movie after he ate some weird shit.
In any case, I saw the hinglish version. Would check out the Hindi version next. I think I might enjoy it more.
Funny reference to Santro (When a donkey f***s a rickshaw, this is what you get.) which is endorsed by Shah Rukh Khan. These small time attacks continue. Bbuddah… Hoga Terra Baap had a similar attack on SRK.
Shaitan: Music is good. Movie? Argh.
So I watched Shaitan yesterday. The music was good. The editing was good. Visually it was an enjoyable movie. Overall? It was a dud.
If you enjoy Anurag Kashyap genre movies, you would enjoy this one. But this is nowhere near the levels of Dev D or Gulaal.
I also saw Ready and Kung Fu Panda 2 last week. Ready is blah. Kung Fu Panda 2 is worth watching in 3D. Amazing visuals.
404
I had not read the reviews. I had no idea what it was. I just knew that it featured Imaad Shah who had also given music in the movie. I just assumed that it was a comedy and was somewhat related to the 404 terminology on the web (not found etc.).
Turned out, I was wrong. It was a b-grade horror flick. Overall, it was a movie that I should have avoided. I never really watch horror movies by choice so today I was pretty much stuck watching it.
But it did have some interesting parts but poor editing made sure that the end result was a disappointment. Still one of the better horror movies we have seen in the recent times.
Frankly speaking, we picked it because the only other option was Hangover 2.
Fast Five is pure entertainment!
Vin Diesel is THE MAN. The guy is simply awesome. The Rock simply fails in comparison in the movie. His look? Comical to say the least. He should stick to action comedies. Serious action movies is simply not his cup of tea. You simply cannot laugh when you see him trying to make a serious face. Same was the case in this flick.
We are likely to see more movies made in this franchise. The Rock could make a comeback. They really end the movies well leaving enough space for a sequel. I am not complaining at all.
Is this my favorite Fast and the Furious movie of the entire series? Hard to say… Tokyo Drift was brilliant. Fast Five is a must watch for anyone looking for a solid action movie.
I wonder why…
We all know about a lot of nonsense they show in movies and television serials. This one is probably the most annoying.
You know the progress bar that is shown for stuff like… money transferring?
Money transfers are well not like file copying. There is no progress bar. Either it happens within a split second or it does not process at all.
I can understand shit like password bypass… but transferring money as if it is copying from one place to another is simply bullshit.
7 Khoon Maaf
Vishal Bhardwaj makes good movies. So there was no doubt that it would turn out to be entertaining. And it was. Except for the part featuring Priyanka Chopra. Which was a problem because she was the hero as well the villain in the Flick.
Anyways. It was good to see Ruskin Bond featured in the movie! As for the husbands… I can say this… Annu Kapoor was probably the best actor of the lot (even though the controversy surrounding how he did not get to do intimate scenes with Chopra (ugh!)). Neil Nitin Mukesh came pretty close. He is probably the best young actors in the industry right now (Ranbir Kapoor? Who’s he?).
Aleksandr Dyachenko was the most entertaining. Especially the Mere Paas Maa Hai scene.
The character roles were pretty awesome. It was nice to see Usha Uthup playing a character. She had few dialogues. Shashi Malviya as Gunga was phenomenal. Overall, an entertaining movie. I bet Chopra is going to take quite a few awards for this one.
And yeah, just realized that Vivaan Shah is Naseerudin Shah’s youngest son! I actually thought that Imaad Shah played the role of Jesus in the end. Not quite sure about that now.
Skyline
So, I went to see this movie today. I was expecting a lot from it. But sadly, I did not read the reviews and hence did not know that it sucks.
And it does.
The movie was made on a pretty reasonable budget. Bulk of the money was spent on special effects and it shows.
All the alien visuals are amazing. Breathtaking even. But the rest of it? Very bad. From actors to the whole storyline… the movie is just freaking boring and disappointing. And they are working on a sequel!
I am hoping that the makers of this movie realize that it does not make sense to make a sequel to this disaster!
