Formula-1 in trouble? Long Live FOTA

FOTA has finally shown that they were not kidding. FIA cannot behave like they are the boss.

Force India

The first race itself has shown how insane it is for companies to survive in the Formula-1.

Sure, crazy fans would say that this is just the very first race. But the truth is that the team is destined to remain a failure. When you cannot develop your own engine… You would die in F-1.

Honda and Toyota are automotive giants of the world. They have the resources and money to develop the best technologies. They are the minnows in the Formula-1 world right now. If they are taking so much time to challenge the likes of Ferrari and McLaren… how long would Force India take to reach the podium?

I so feel bad for Lewis Hamilton

I was sitting in CCD when we suddenly realized that the F1 race today would be over by then and we would have a new champion.

I wanted Lewis Hamilton to win of course. But there was this thing in my mind that wanted Ferrari to win.

Ferrari not Kimi Räikkönen I must say. And that happened some how. Big surprise. I got the news from Puneet who probably thought that I was pulling his leg by asking him the question on a SMS at 1 am in the morning.

He gave me the race result with a twist of sarcasm. I thought he was kidding and telling me the result I wanted to hear. I confirmed the result by checking the news on my mobile. Tata Indicom’s mobile internet comes handy at times like these. :)

And it was indeed a pretty big shock to see the totally unexpected result in todays race.

Hamilton would win the championship someday. He is the new Raikkonen considering Raikkonen has now removed the tag of great-driver-to-have-not-won-a-championship. :)

As for Alonso… He can go and do something that I would not like to mention here. Congrats to Raikkonen and a job well done to Hamilton.

PS. The race result makes me think of so many conspiracy theories on what could have happened in the backend. Ferrari being pretty much satisfied with the penalty applied on McLaren earlier this year is one of them. I would not say much on that. I am just plain happy that Ferrari would have the No. 1 car next season.

Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen

Rumors are strong in the formula-1 world that Ferrari is just due to announce that they have signed on Kimi Raikkonen to partner Michael Schumacher next year. This would however require Michael to sign on to continue with his deal at Ferrari.

More rumors claim that Michael’s manager is interested in a deal with Renault. Considering the current condition of Ferrari, it would be interesting to see Alonso in a McLaren, Kimi in a Ferrari and Michael in a Renault.

But, Michael not in a Ferrari would be something very sad for me. Maybe, Ferrari can fix their problems this year itself and Michael does something magical to make a comeback to win this year’s championship. And then he retires.

Perfect ending…

Formula-1

I am watching the first race of this season and I am disappointed to see Michael Schumacher starting from tenth place. However, the funny thing is that the McLaren Mercedes car looks shitty with the red colored parts attached to their black and silver chassis.

FIA and Montoya

One act of stupidity on the part of a stupid Formula-1 driver that Juan Pablo Montoya is spoilt a rather productive day. Anyone who is not a Schumacher fan would give a sigh of relief watching the great one not winning yet another race but the truth is, he had a good chance of winning. If not winning, a third place was more than guaranteed. That meant just a 4 point margin from the perfect score which is not bad. But that was not to be. The oh-so-innocent Montoya had him out of the race in a bizarre incident. It was not even a racing incident! He crashed Michael out of the race which following the Safety Car! What the hell.

Michael was leading the race at that moment, he was leading the pack of cars following the Safety Car and he was the one who had to define the speed of the follow up. And it is pretty normal for drivers to accelerate and brake hard to keep the cars and tires warm. That was what Michael doing. And what happened, the blind son of a bitch hit him. What did Monty have to say?

“Michael brakes very hard as he was warming up his brakes and I moved to the right side of the track to avoid him. But the gap narrowed and we touched.”

And what did Williams Technical Director Patrick Head have to say?

“No matter what Michael or Ross (Brawn) might think, Juan is not a dirty driver. He knows what respecting a fellow driver is and there were no dirty tricks”

So, he has a feeling what we guys think about Juan! FIA has dismissed any kind of action on this incident. Also, I find it surprising how they don’t penalize BAR Honda for keeping Takuma Sato on the track even when it was clear that his car was going to explode any moment and thus risk a huge incident. An incident which later caused Fisichella retirement.

2 things I would love to know:

  1. What would have happened if Michael and Monty were in opposite seats? Would Monty have taken this as politely as Michael did? You just have to see what happened after the last race!
  2. How would Patrick Head feel, if Monty in a McLaren does the same thing next year to one of his drivers?

Hey Monty! Why not do something else than whining? Join McLaren, take it to heights Ferrari is at right now. What if it takes 1 or 2 years?
Michael did it!

And, Schumacher needs credit for his calm composure for the way he took the asshole and his act of stupidity. And people say he is arrogant! Duh…
