airtel is the new annoying Koffee with Karan

If you are watching television for the last 2-3 days, you would have seen the new airtel ads.

They are everywhere. In the newspapers, on the radio and on television.

In fact, they have now become as annoying as the ads for Koffee with Karan on Star World.

airtel needs to slow down. Their new ads are focused on video calling feature on 3G. They have not even launched 3G officially in the market. Majority of 3G device owners are not even going to use video calling (software compatibility, devices lacking front facing cameras and so on).

It is just getting freaking annoying.

A message for Star World

I want you to bring $h*! My Dad Says and Conan to Indian television screens.

I want you to stop promoting Koffee with Karan so much that I have pretty much stopped watching your channel.

Fix your shit. If Koffee with Karan is the best show you have to offer, I should probably switch to watching Zee Cafe full time at my end.

Mission Impossible featuring Sushubh

Well. Let me clarify something. I have nothing against Karan Johar or any other individual. Everything written here is personal opinion and nothing is aimed to defame anyone.

Amidst all the crap stuff, I am busy in… in my daily routine, I get to meet some nice people on the net. And one of these nice souls has decided that she would not let me have few hours of peace in the day. While my issues with her are quite a lot more complicated than what they seems, here is one little challenge she put up for me. Do a post on Karan Johar praising him. And the post has to be genuine!

Karan Johar… the dude who made my life miserable by:
1. Making real crappy movies about nothing but gloss.
2. Making it ever crappier by putting his face on the Television Set through Koffee with Karan.
3. Continues to annoy me with his egoistic comments in interviews and what not.

How the hell am I supposed to come up with a genuine post praising him! It seems quite impossible. I am tempted to give up but absolutely find myself helpless in doing that in front of the person who challenged me…

The guy hires some of the biggest names in the industry. Develops a script giving each of them a memorable role, which manages to fool almost every soul in this country and abroad. Spends a huge amount of money in making these movies but manages to recover quite a lot more from it. There is no word hovering around reality in his dictionary.

People live in palaces, travel in helicopters, businesses are run by robots so you stay in your homes 24×7. You have enough time to sing songs on the roadsides without worrying about the clients and you have gals wearing the weirdest of cloths in the parties happening at your place.

Colleges looks like campuses sponsored by DKNY and Versace. There is nothing like poverty or financial problems with the students. Your drive Porsche or Mercedes whichever matches the surroundings. You pretend to be the coolest people around with 10 guys believing you are the best thing to happen to their lives.

What good does it do to our film industry? Are these movies any better than Mithun Da movies? Not for me. I had rather watch a B-Grade movie showing Mithun killing three thugs with a single bullet with little help from a chakku lying in his pocket than a posh movie with gloss all around the movie set.

Damn, I am going to lose this challenge. I think I have already lost it. Do I feed bad? No, I am kinda proud that I told the truth here. There is nothing good in the guy named Karan Johar or the kind of movies he makes and tries to push them down our throat. The show named Koffee with Karan is a curse. Curse to Indian television, the worse thing to happen to Star World ever since they decided to go desi.

Sorry mate, the challenge was too tough for me to fulfill! I am not a debater, I just express what I feel like.

Somewhat surprised

I saw Ocean’s Twelve on Saturday when I was in Gurgaon. I somewhat liked the first movie, this one was a disappointment. On the other hand, I just cannot get myself to change channels if I find Munna Bhai MBBS running on some channel.

I really feel terrible that I missed watching it in a theatre with 200 more people laughing their asses off. ;)

On the good side, I totally ignored Koffee with Karan today and plan to do so in the future. So, no more irritating posts on it. I found back my old hobby… buy tons of magazines and read them. Instead of watching television all the time.
