I have not played around much but the free memory has increased considerably.

Apple iPhone 4 Announced
I think it is a pretty cool update. If I was an Apple fan, this is the device I would definitely want to buy. It has a gorgeous display. It has a pretty awesome camera. And the iOS 4 is looking pretty good.
