Just landed back home. Had been delaying getting the tires of my car checked. Today, I finally made it. And found out that the rear tires had a total of four punctures.
Had no energy left to get the front two tires checked. Found out another thing… Fiat’s tires have a pretty different groove which makes taking them out and putting them back a very complicated task.
Realized that if I had to change the tire by myself, it would require a monumental effort on my part.
Not an amusing thought. The night before I was driving to Noida to drop a friend at his place.
We were driving casually with no hurry at all. It was around 11PM. It was around the Barakhamba Road when this incident happened.
It was pitch dark. And this man appeared from nowhere. Started crossing the street. I was hardly at a distance when he appeared. Did not respond to honking. There was not enough space between my car and him to apply brakes. The only thing I could do was the dodge him. But he kept on moving towards the left side!
I barely managed to avoid hitting him. Thankfully the road was wide enough for me to get past him from the left. The car skidded a bit due to the sharp turn taken to avoid him. Probably ABS kicked in and I was back on the road riding in a straight line.
It was a pretty scary incident.
And the only thing i could think of after that incident was… What would have happened if I had indeed hit him? He was probably drunk to be crossing the street like that. I had all the papers in the car. I had no alcohol in my system. I would have done nothing wrong. I can only think of the various possibilities if an accident had occurred at that point. How the cops would have handled it. Looking at all the crap I am already in, I am very thankful to god today that nothing happened. And it turned out to be a safe drive back home (except for those tense 10 seconds!).
The rat was actually in the boot of the car when I opened it to place this thing. And I could do nothing… It just disappeared. Very annoying. I am probably going to take my car and park it at home and use my bike instead.
Apparently, I need to get an FIR done to get it fixed under insurance.
FIR is needed because it was not an accident but intentional damage (or something like that).
I lose the no claim bonus on my next insurance payment. Not sure about the bill.
I really do not get it. What was going on in the mind of the douche who did it to my car. Very disturbing.
The latest bug to develop on my car is the failure of the Microsoft’s Blue&Me system.
The audio controls have stopped working for the USB based media.
Linea’s AC strugged at 40° C. This was pretty hard for the car. And me.
Fuel Efficiency.
I usually managed to get over 20kmpl on highways. The mess on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway ensured that I would fail to touch this mark. Add the massive traffic I faced inside Jaipur including a possible accident with a bus being driven by an old guy who had no idea that he had just missed hitting my car by a couple of ‘centimeters’!
These marks were caused by the seat belt in my car. It was awesomely hot on the way back from Jaipur. The AC in Linea as usual failed to justify the high price of the car. And in the end, I had these from the sweat and friction from the combination…
