The only good thing about the tournament was that the best team won. The players who were sold for millions failed to justify their worth. Young players got a chance to play with some of the best cricketers in the world. And we got to see Lalit Modi act as a spot boy passing on the medals and mementos to Sharad Pawar during the final presentation. The guy is amazing. One media report claims that he is worth around Rs. 8000 crores. Some other reports say that he is a fraudster facing criminal lawsuits. Jai ho cricket.
It was also good to see that the match did not go through a bowl out. That is a disgrace to the game.
Royal Challengers and Rahul Dravid
I am a Rahul Dravid fan and it pains me to see him being in a position that he is in at the moment. He is out of the One Day team and he is not expected to last in the test squad for long.
His IPL team Royal Challengers is playing absolutely trash cricket in the tournament and rightly placed at the bottom of the tally.
Dravid needs to realize that his form of cricket is no longer played or preferred. He needs to take a decision now to get out of the twenty 20 cricket and he need to do it now.
It would be better if he concentrates on test cricket alone for the remaining few years he has.
