Maruti Suzuki Citibank AutoCard

The good thing:

You can get this credit card pretty easily provided you own a Maruti vehicle.

The card looks nice compared to basic cards given by the banks.

The card can be used to buy petrol from Indian Oil Pumps without paying any surcharge.

You get points for purchases made at Indian Oil Pumps and Maruti Service Centers.

The bad thing:

Most of the Indian Oil Pumps would have dead Citibank credit card machines.

The ones who would have the Citibank machine, they would not support the AutoCard points feature.

In the end… The Bonus Points promised by Maruti Suzuki are hard to get. Unless you are lucky enough to land at a petrol pump which has a functional Citibank card machine which support the AutoCard feature.

Citibank loves me?

Of course they don’t. But they do have access to my credit history which I think is pretty good for a self employed individual.

As a result, they approved a second credit card to me. This is when most of the other banks have rejected my application for no apparent reason.

The list includes: ICICI Bank (most surprising), HSBC, UTI (Axis Bank), Standard Chartered and SBI.

Damn you Citibank

Damn you Citibank

I had a feeling that Citibank was at fault for my misplaced Credit Card payment check earlier this month. Now, I have some proof

DGIR had found that both banks (Citibank, HSBC) were allegedly delaying delivery of bills and realisation of cheques toward payment just to charge increased interest rate, late fee and fine etc.

I am sick of ICICI Bank

They are working hard on making my life miserable. I have been their customer since 6-7 years now. I have a DMAT account with them. I have a Gold Debit Card with them. I am a Gold Customer. But they still do not think I am worthy of owning a regular ICICI Credit Card.

Now, sometime back they decided that the Gold Debit Card they issued me was not secure enough. I should have a grid based debit card instead.

They sent me one but it never reached me. But they did enable it in their system for online transactions. So, now I cannot conduct any online transaction till I manage to get my hands on their missing card.

I told them to deliver the card to the bank branch where my account is. They told me that it would be delivered within 7 days. It’s been 10 days now and the bank still has not received my card.

But they did remember to deduct the Card charges from my bank account. Something which I never wanted in the first place. Something which I have still not received.

Getting statements from ICICI Bank

I asked the ICICI Bank to send me statement of the current financial year on my credit card. The bank does what I asked them to do on first request.

Excellent.

But, the company sent me screenshots taken from their database. Funny thing, the screenshots had a link to download the statement in I guess CSV/Excel format for emailing to customers.

If they had sent me an excel file instead, it would have been a whole lot easier for me. Taking prints of screenshots is going to be cumbersome and time wasting.

HostDime: What do you want from me now?

HostDime: What do you want from me now?

HostDime was a nice company which kept my site online for a couple of months. Last month they decided they would no longer keep my website on their servers because it was consuming too many resources.

Fine. I got my backup and I moved. But their accounts department seems to believe that I am still their customer and they keep sending me invoices. Good thing I did not register my credit card with them or else they would have been deducting payments from it as well.

Today, I got a suspension notice. It says that they would suspend the website which is not even on their servers if I do not make the pending payments. Dude, I do not owe you anything. Get me off your list. I am not your customer. Stop bugging me.

ABN Amro marketing people

I just got a call from some call center gal from ABN Amro bank. They wanted me to get a credit card from them.

I just might have if they had not called me Subhash Mittal.

Damn people. If you are calling people from some spam list you acquired from mobile service providers, at least get the name right. Don’t piss me off. I love my name and I like it the way it is.

Reminds me. The printing press which made business cards for my first company (Jaldi.com) got it wrong too. I got my card with the name Subhash Mittal. Despite the fact that I made it a point to write my name on the order sheet in bold capital letters. S U S H U B H   M I T T A L.
