I made my mistakes. Read some FAQs and in the end it works beautifully. Open Source applications are so bloody awesome. Samba and Synergy makes my home network an awesome workplace!

This video tutorial came very handy. I had problems even after this but I found out that they were due to Firewall issues. I had to disable the firewall on both the systems to get it to work.

I hate silent firewalls!
