Insanity Rediscovered

Time to rant again. I end up visiting Noida like once or twice a month. And the first thing that hits me is the way people drive there. My last accident took place in the city when a Santro dude banged me from behind and today also I managed to survive a few scary ones…

I finally managed to successfully convert a RPM file to DEB file for installation on Ubuntu and it seems to have worked.
Pretty cool stuff. It would have been better if Adobe had issued a DEB file installer for Ubuntu and other Debian based Linux Distros for their latest Flash Player Beta.

Ok, tons of issues. File upload is one of them. Pretty sad. The application does not work with file uploads as well.
Everything works fine on Firefox though.

PDF file attachment spam. Greeting Card from Neighbor Spam. The latest is now Membership Confirmation spam.
They try to show that you got registered on some awesome site and you get your login details along with the password.
But you are told to change the password to something else or the login would get disabled after a [...]

Becomes important if you use mouse gestures very frequently. Looks like my current mouse has lost its sensitivity. The gestures have become buggy!

Thanks to some one who commented on one of my earlier posts. MultiGet has turned out to be the sanest download manager I have found on the Linux platform. Though it still has its annoyances compared to Flashget.
And I do not think it can log in to FTP servers for batch downloading.
