American Presidential Debate

I must admit, I loved watching George Bush and John Kerry fighting it out verbally on CNN today. Kinda disappointed that we do not have anything similar here in India. The best we have is people fighting with each other on general TV shows like The Big Fight. But nothing on the national scale. I so much would have loved to see Sonia Gandhi (or Manmohan Singh) and Atal Bihari Vajpayee discussing national issues on a live telecasted debate. But well… there is little hope. Even the discussions on censorship that came today on NDTV 24×7 was a disaster. Anupam Kher who normally would have been challenging the authority of a committee at fault had to act like a politician defending the organization he heads now, the Indian censor board. He seemed like a powerless fellow who had been put at the top of the organization with little actual powers.

Sad… Indeed.

Back on the American Presidential Debate, after reading this Blog… you just love to look at George Bush talking more carefully. Kinda reminds me of Sonia Gandhi reading Hindi speeches written in English during her earlier days…
