I am starting to hate Opera Browser Weeklies
Update: Umm, I never expected to get ‘official’ responses to this post. Olli is right, weeklies are more or less supposed to have issues, otherwise they won’t be… what else ‘weeklies’. I am going to wait for the O9 final to come out before commenting any more on where Opera is moving ahead.
The point remains… Internet is a pain in the ass if I don’t have Opera to help me make it usable.
The more recent versions of the Opera Browser are giving me nightmares. Not only are they releasing new versions rarely, the new versions are more and more mimicking the way Mozilla Firefox behaves. They are messing up too much with the tab behavior, which reminds me of the hassles I face with Firefox.
Interestingly, Firefox is becoming more and more like how Opera used to behave a couple of versions back. This is completely disastrous. You cannot expect to get more users by pissing off your existing users. If you claim to be different, stay different. Don’t start following the masses just because everyone else is doing something different.
People are with you supporting you because you are different. I don’t want a Firefox like Opera. I had rather use Firefox, which behaves more like Opera.
Sushubh: You know that Asa likes Opera.. Thats what firghtenes him and the reason for him to trash us all the time :-p
@ Jon: Thanks for the comment. It’s nice to see Opera people checking and commenting on people’s opinion on the browser. I once had ASA commenting on one of my post on my Blogs. Guess what he did? Criticised Opera referring to the superiority of Firefox!
Heh. You have not roamed around Opera’s Forum or IRC Channel. He is one of the guys responsible for proper working Windows version of the Opera Browser…
