I have been to both these places presonally and I found out the food to be excellent. Monk is great with chinese whereas East 101 was excellent with Muglai , chinese oriental and Thai food. Monk happenend to be only a chinese reastaurent but east 101 also doubles up as a night club and party place.The staff was exceptionally helpful. Infact one time at East 101 i happen to drop my drink on the table and on the food myself. The staff not only did replace my drink and the food but also I was not charged for the replacement on my fault. Also the GM Mr. Manish kalra personally got us an excellent service and a discount on the bill on the part of discomfort. Now thats excellent service and personal care. I'm visiting from Canada and I've tasted authentic Chinese food from both Hong Kong and Punjab. From discussions with friends worldwide, I've decided that the Cantonese will probably hate authentic Punjabi Chinese cuisine forever and Punjabis will probably hate authentic Cantonese Chinese cuisine forever too. But since both are a hit in the Centre of the Universe (i.e. Toronto), I guess the only people not joining the multicultural cuisine party are Punjabis and Cantonese... And, perhaps in keeping with the austerely-disposed's guilty sweet indulgengences --desserts have sweet-"wok"ed their way into the menu.Our trio thought the desserts were to die for. We sampled a date pancakes with ice-cream and sesame balls with hazelnut, each priced at Rs.175/-. Our kudos to the dessert chef are, we think, just deserts.
