Some thoughts on Sourav Ganguly and ENDulkar!
It is weird that I do not like the game of cricket but still manage to continue ranting about it. The fact is that I have strong feelings on interesting subjects like Sourav Ganguly, which has somehow become a topic of national concern. Why is no one talking about the scams and frauds which have hit the news in the past couple of years!
The dude is the India’s most successful cricket captain. However, Kapil Dev used to be the India’s most successful test cricket bowler. Should we persuade him to make a comeback? The dude has got an impressive test and one-day record. So what? He has played a lot of cricket and he has a record to show for it and he has made a fortune for himself doing that.
That should not be criteria for his continuation in the Indian cricket team.
However, if you believe me, the same logic applies on Sachin Tendulkar. The Times of India has an interesting image in today’s newspaper with the tagline ‘ENDulkar’. The image showcases the way Sachin got out yesterday. Totally insane stuff. Is Indian cricket going the hockey way? Not really. There is a lot of money in the game as the new management of BCCI has shown.
They have even shown guts by removing Sourav Ganguly from captaincy and the team too. The old management would not have dreamt of doing so. The highlight of the whole situation is the fact that Sourav seems to be missing the whole point. No one, except for some blind people likes him.
He is becoming a curse on the team. He might make a century here and there but his presence in the Indian team is not helping anyone. He has to realize that instead of dragging himself out and in the team, it would be better if he takes a break and spend sometime playing Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments. And SERIOUSLY is the keyword here. Not to prove a point, but to get his mind back on the planet earth.
If he continues to perform impressively, I would be last person in the country to oppose his selection in the team. But the person who misses out on domestic cricket at the time when the national team has thrown him out for ‘personal reasons’… It does not impress me. From what I know, playing cricket for the country and his state is his profession not a curricular activity. If he is not even interested in playing domestic cricket, he should perhaps retire now…
Or, it would be just too late. He is already in a position that the world is going to recognize him more for the current insanities than for his brilliant performances in the past. Why make it worse! Kapil Dev did it, Steve Waugh did it, and Sachin is going to do someday. He is definitely not Michael Schumacher that he can demand his position in the Indian cricket team. Cricket unfortunately is a game played by a team of 11. And one guy is definitely not that important to waste national airtime on.
Someone needs to tell that to our television news channels.

Its high time Indian cricket rose from the murky depths of superstars and god like cricketers. The only way India can be a super power is to pick players on form rather than records.Sachin is a fading star …he may still score centuries but each and every Indian knows that he can never win India any matches. Its time for the lil master to bid adieu.

I read the whole article today…
Have you ever thought of writing articles and reviews or going for serious journalism?
That could be your calling in life.
I seriously liked your last paragraph and your play with the words chosen to convey your opinion
Good work!!

you are missing the point. a personal blog is for personal opinion. it is not like i am going to your blog and making my opinion visible on your blog. it is my blog and i would write whatever i feel about. no matter how inaccurate they are. apparently, this is not a news channel for you to criticize.
