Zaika on the Delhi Jaipur Highway
We are hungry people around here. We have our dinner. And that everyday we go to the Café Coffee Day for a routine cup of coffee. And then we venture out even further looking for food at 1 am in the night.
Alas, the world does not work as per our requirement. Apart from the dhabas near the call center, no other place is open. And today we decided to find one. We landed on the otherwise popular but untried Zaika Restaurant on the Delhi Jaipur highway.
The atmosphere was grim and gloomy. We almost took off but decided to give it a test anyways. The menu was a revelation. It had a peculiar statement written on it, which was so damn funny and irritating. It went like this:
Extra surcharge on vomiting: Rs. 50/-
First, we assumed that since it was a roadside thingy, a lot of drunkards would land up here and causing them unreasonable clutter. However, after eating the food at the joint, we came to know that the statement was a warning about the quality of food being served there.
We decided to gulp down the shitty food with a bottle of Mirinda and run home in case one of us might not go puke puke. Lesson learnt; never eat food in a restaurant, which warns about surcharges for puking at their place.
[...] So that is what I have brought back from that city: a ravenous appetite. While there are friends of mine trying not to puke on the food they eat, here I am blessed by being smack bang in the middle of this humongous mothership of restaurants, stalls, kiosks and whatnots. [...]
[...] Then, I clicked the photo of the legendary Zaika restaurant where we once had a very trashy meal. The owner of the restaurant again did not find it amusing and came to me with some questions. [...]
