Harsha Bhogle on Television!

I am not sure if he is hosting any sports related show on television, but I did caught him on Star One in a cookery related show! Interesting. Nope, he was not hosting it, but was a guest. Being interviewed by this dude. Weird!

Chump, next time you’re doing social service for complete strangers, try and leave out people’s personal phone numbers. As you may have figured out, the word ‘personal’ means ‘not for public consumption’. Cheers.

Hi Harsha , Not sure if our Indian players or part of the entourage ever watch channel nine or listen to the radio commentary themselves . it seems to be an open secret here that the Aussie players receive ample information of the weaknesses of their opposition players from various cricketing analysts in and around the country, besides sitting down together and plotting the demise of their opposition. They also seem to spend time studying their bowling action, fild placing and strategies from video re-plays. Are Indian players and people who are on the board of selectors and coaches aware of this ? Do Indian players ever sit and plot how to get rid off their Aussie counterparts ? Maybe Indian players play good cricket…but against Australia, they really need to be ten steps ahead, in order to be able to be atleast two steps ahead. Ask them not to speak loud. just play and let actions speak for the team. And it really helps if the team always gets here atleast two weeks before a match if not earlier. Shortage of dollars ? No worries, loyal fans like myself and others I’m sure shall either contribute for their accommodation. No hassles there. Let the Melbourne test be a bygone.Perhaps that was the four day tour match.let them try winning the remaining three tests. What if they each tried scoring an extra twenty to twent-five runs on average per innings, on top of their Melbourne Performance ? That’d it cut down drastically , their loss margin. In years, this is probably their best bowling attack. How ironic they’re not firing on their batting. Australians in general are mentally tough. .our men need to get that way. If you can’t beat them, join them and learn from them…so they CAN actually bet them ! We can do it. Be passionate about the techniques of the game, like the aussies and be just as ruthless , but quietly. Adopting a friendly approach might just do the trick for us. Even Sri Lankans seem to enjoy and love their game…hence they’ve come a long way and have been winning more games lately, overall. Take nothing for granted…if you can grab the first five wickets for a hundred -and-fifty , then grab the remaining five for less, instead of giving away two-hundred runs before claiming the latter five. Also, in recent times more lower order players have been making more runs than the top order , Australia being an exception so I cannot understand why the so called specialist batsmen are unable to maintain their consistency . Investigate what mind games the Aussies deploy, what their cricket academy does and how it trains and mentors its players…and the Australian Institute of sports as well…we need to do the same if not something similar to emulate the Aussies and beat them at their game , as its no longer an English game . Always great to listen to you, Thanks for your great laughs and inspiration. All the best.

Hi everyone!! What is the score of the recent IND- AUS test match series ? 2 - 1 to Australia ? Wrong !!
Actually, there were two series of two test match each, were played in this tour.
In the first series, the two matches were played - first match at Melbourne and second at Sydney- and Australia won the series ( though everyone except the two umpires agree that series was a draw with 1 - 1).
Then, the another series started with new umpires and a “new” australian team. India won this series by scoring victory at Perth ( it’s a quick turf , mate !) and settling for a draw at Adelaide.

So, the final score is equal 1 - 1 !!

By the way, it was really funny to watch Sunny Gavaskar losing his temper and mentioning sarcastic anecdotes about Mike Proctor, when Aussies appealed against Tendulkar while it was apparent that ball had touched ground before Symonds caught it and appealed.

I have been watching the recent cricket coverage (Test and ODI’s) on Star Sports and cringe every time Harsha Bhogle takes the microphone. Is it me, or does anyone else think that Harsha provides absolutely no value when commentating on the game of cricket?

I think Sunny, Wasim and Ravi provide interesting commentary - this is probably due to their experience on the field. However, Harsha seems to only know how to speak on topics that have nothing to do with cricket! The guy is an absolute joke. Wasim replied to a ‘Harsha sentence’ by saying, “Can we talk about the cricket please?”
