Paying Taxes?
It’s a big dilemma. I have been paying taxes and filing returns since last two years. I do not really have any reasons to not pay my taxes. But the way things work around me, it just amuses me why should I be paying taxes at all?
Ok. Here is the thing. We have roads. Bad roads. The good ones are being prepared. But my money will not be spent there coz the new roads and highways would have toll taxes. And I think we do pay 2 rupees per liter of petrol in the name of road development! I have streetlights on the roads outside. But do they work? Not when I want them too. I have electricity powering my house. But I pay for it and it is not stable enough to make me happy. I have to buy a stabilizer and an online UPS to keep the situation sane at home.
We have development work going all around us. But, I think the government already charges a lot in the name of LADT (local area development tax) from businesses. Funding educational projects? Sorry sir, they already charge it along with service tax on any kind of service you can think off.
What I think is that most of the money, which is collected in the name of taxes, is used to subsidize stuff for the people living below the poverty lines. However, the last time I heard, corrupt business people benefit more than the poor ones from these schemes too. For example, cheap kerosene is used to adulterate petrol, which is again sold to us at high prices. Reminds me of why a certain Manjunath was killed.
So, seriously someone needs to give me a valid reason to me to pay taxes. Do not give me trash like it is required for a developed and prosperous India.

hey dude, I have engaged a lawyer, I pay him 1000+ bucks and he saves me from those hefty taxes. U also engage one.
I dont want my hard earned money to go into corrupt ppl’s pcokets. I better give it to some accountant.
