Republic Day???
So, today is India’s Republic Day. Great. But someone needs to tell me why our national holidays are actually holidays? Is it the right way to celebrate the greatness of our country by sitting (or sleeping) at home doing nothing productive?
Right. I do agree that when I was a kid, we loved to have more holidays in the name of Independence Day, Republic Day, and Gandhi Jayanti. But, now that I have grown up and trying hard to make a living in these tough times… I cannot get my bank work done today because they would be closed today.
I cannot go to electricity office coz it would be closed too. No work is being done in our office coz it’s a national holiday. So, what do I do? Go to bed and sleep?
I think I will do that. The government is technically forcing me to do it! Waste productive man-hours. When this country cannot afford it in any possible scenario.

Sushubh, you would be enraging the Gandhi bhakts and Socialist assholes in one go.
Even US celebrates its independence day by declaring a holiday…we have “some right” on these two days(15 th August). As for the bank establishments et al being closed..Govt wanted us to “celebrate” it together as one nation. It’s a different matter that Indians don’t feel it that way. Sad for a nation as a whole.
2nd October is a total waste and ill deserved. Ironically, Gandhi had no mass following to the extent we are made to believe…but that’s another BIG story.
