The world is a hopeless place
Some people have huge egos. Some other are just plain greedy. Others are lazy and few are just not ready to accept the fact that they can be wrong some times. And I hate it when people respond to mails without even reading it completely and that too with zillions of spelling mistakes and really terrible grammar. They do have a spell checker in mail clients… Right?
Being helpful is no longer rewarding either.
And yeah. The corporate world in India is evil too. Sify Broadband… They just developed a gem of software that would let me login to their system efficiently. But the catch is that it also installs some crappy shit software called SecureSynergy without asking for my permission. And, it also requires me to uninstall any existing piece of antivirus that I have on my system before I can even start its installation. So, from next month… Either I do this or I cannot even access internet from my system.
Bravo, Developers at Sify Broadband… To tell you the truth… you guys disgust me. And I am not the only one who thinks that ways.
And well, since I am ranting already… Let me add those Reliance phones to the list… You can hear their ring bells from 10 KMs away. And I believe most of the new sets do not even have decent mobile phone rings. All you get are the jingles and melodies. Very bad indeed… Considering I am thinking of getting one for myself! Maybe I will get Hutch GPRS instead for that net connectivity if indeed Sify went over the line and enforce this stupid rule of installing some pathetic software against my wishes.
Update: Just found this on the net!
I was thinking about myself and found out that I am becoming a mixture of Richard Karinsky from Caroline in the City and Dr. John Becker from Becker. If you see these two TV Series, you would know 66% of me.

its not the unlimited plan thingy. its the convinience now i have in place with it. i know about how to get services out of local people… i tried researching about GPRS you suggested the first time you landed here find it to be more complicated coz it will keep my mobile busy 24×7. if they do not fix this stupid clause, maybe i will switch to Hutch GPRS.

Now I know 66% of you.
Is there nothing else available other than Sify? Are they holding a monopoly? Let’s hope not. I understand the whole big company funda — even I have experience two recent problems with big companies (department store - Sears and my mobile company - Verizon Wireless). Sucks yaar — but where else can we go?

They do not have a monopoly… Just that I am living in a area where nothing else seems to be present
GPRS as Angad suggested is an alternative.. But afaik, it will keep my mobile busy when I am online. And unfortunately I am online 24×7.
Damn, Why cannot Tata Indicom/Bharti Touchtel/Spectranet come to this part of the country?
