Insanity Rediscovered

Ok. During my hunt for the late nighttime eating joints, I stumbled across this food chain best known for its namkeens and stuff. It is supposed to be opened till 11 pm. We were there by time and tried to order some food. First of all, the place is so brightly lit that you might find your eyes and brain going nuts.

Second, they have hired so many guys. Just for the sake of cleaning the place. It was like 30 guys working in the place at 11 pm most of them just sweeping the floor around. The place has two floors and the food stuff is divided between them. Therefore, you can have dosa at the first floor, but the choley bature is on the other floor.

Despite having so many people working for them, they still expect us to serve ourselves. So, you go to the cash counter to order. Than you wait for the food while watching 10 guys doing nothing but sweeping the floor. And if you manage to order foods available at different floors, you would have to shuffle between them to get access to your food.

One irritating factor. Iced tea is downstairs but cold drinks are available on both the floors. We were sitting on the first floor so just to get my iced tea I had to go down to pick it up. No, the guys are not even courteous to serve us food despite at least five of them roaming around aimlessly.

Another factor. Despite they say that they are open till 11 pm. It depends upon your luck whether you can get the food items you want. Coz, the food department decides when to stop serving a particular food item. So I could not order raajma chawal that I wanted to have. Even worse, the manager of the floor was not interested in checking why we were sitting for idle for so long. He came to tell us that they have stopped taking new orders. Ok fine. However, he forgot to tell us how much long we would have to wait to get the order I had placed around 15 minutes ago.

Despite having just around 2-3 groups of people sitting around, it still took them 15 minutes to prepare one food item we ordered. God bless us, the people who want to have decent food late at night.
