As per Hindu mythology, we are supposed to have millions and millions of gods and their incarnations. Apparently, Lord Hanuman is the coolest of the lot. You have more reasons to like Hanuman than perhaps any of the other gods.
Of course, this is totally my personal opinion!

Hanuman, who is the monkey God and a reincarnation of Shiva. He is well known for helping out Rama rescue Sita who was kidnapped by Ravana, the 10 headed Demon.
He is an ideal devotee to God which is symbolised by all the letters in his name –
H= Humility and Hopefulness (optimism)
A= Admiration (truthfulness and devotion)
N= Nobility (sincerity, loyalty, modesty)
U= Understanding (knowledge)
N= Mastery over ego (kindness, compassion)
A= Achievements (strength)
N= Nishkama-karma (selfless work in service of God)
Some people find it odd to worship a monkey but to believers the idea is to revere and worship him for the astounding attributes he represents-attributes that most humans find impossible to practice.
He is normally shown holding a mace called the Gada which is a sign of his bravery
He has a tattoo of Lord Rama with his wife Sita on his chest which shows how much he is devoted to him.
The mountain he sometimes carries is a symbol for the kidnapping of Sita where Lakshmana was badly injured and only a special herb could help him. Hanuman was not able to identify the herb and so took the whole mountain which saved Lakshmanas life.
Hanuman’s spiritual father is Vayu, so Hanuman is also called Pavan-putra (meaning ’son of Pavan’) or Maruti. Being divine, Hanuman was born with immense physical strength, the power to fly, and divine levels of endurance.
Hanuman was born in the Treta Yuga, as the son of Anjana a female vanara. Anjana was actually an apsaras (a celestial being), named Punjikasthala, who, due to a curse, was born on the earth as a female vanara. The curse was to be removed on her giving birth to an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Anjana was the wife of Kesari, a strong vanara who once killed a mighty elephant that was troubling sages and hermits. He therefore got the name ‘Kesari’, meaning lion, and is also called Kunjara Südana, the elephant killer.
Hanuman is actually a very popular God since there is even a 2005 animated feature film about him released by Sahara India Pariwar of India. The film dramatizes his life and it is even India’s first major commercial family animated feature.

Hanuman ji was son of Anjani and Kesari. A dravidian Brahmin from Vanar community. Vanar= Va+ Nar ( short height + human). He was not a monkey.
Kesari was a millitary commander in Sugriva’s army. Hanuman ji became a close confidante of King Sugriva. This Vanara kingdom was where modern Hampi is in Karnataka.
Mother Anjani had got this son from the blessings of Lord Shiva. And Hanuman ji had various siddhis ( anima, laghima, garima etc as mentioned in Patanjali Yogsutras. By the way, this 8-fold Yoga is a technology which uses the power of consciousness).
All other mystic things said about him are symbolism for intrinsic spiritual and other powers, abilities and strength.
But, neither he, nor anyone else, was ever a monkey among Vanaras.
He was a great warrior and endowed with high spiritual powers. The only devotee in human history who is worshipped as a god. Spiritually, its said that Lord Shiva himself was born as Hanuman. And, as Hanuman ji had powers like Pavan, the god of wind, he is called Pavan-putra.
His grabbing the sun in his childhood is a symbolic way of telling that he acquired the knowledge of Solar Science ( the mystical Surya-vigyan) when he was very young.

Lord Hanuman is great devotee of Sri Ramachandra. He is god of Kaliyug (Present world). If you are doing any work with the name of Sri Anjaneya, you will get lots of daring to do. I fee that. Your fear will get vanish. Only one god of Hindu religion Sri Hanuman is Celibacy (Brahmachari).
Everyday pray to Sri Hanuman really you will get lots of strength.

Hanuman conseves the powers of all the gods of heaven. Worshipping him, one gets the result of all pujas. Hanuman is truly the GOD of Kaliyaga. His devotees shall receive salvation here and hereafter. 2 mantras of Hanuman are “Om Shri Hanumante Namah” and “Om Pavan Nandanaye Svaha” and “Jai Bajrang Bali”. Keeping a statue of Panchmukhi Hanuman at the western side of your house shall nullify all vastu defects. So love my Lord Hanuman.

From the Tantric point of view, Hanuman is the energy in the throat chakra and jaw which connects the Heart Chakra (Spiritual Hierarchy) to the Third Eye (Will aspect of the planetary logos). He has access to the planetary,solar, galactic and universal antahkarana. He possesses a physical body but he can move at will into any vibration existing in this Universe.
To put it in simple words, Hanuman is the prototype of the ultimate divine warrior… kind of like a Super-Navy Seal

Hanuman is wrongly interpretated as as the incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is actually one of the three incarnation of VayuDeva (the Air god),,, The three incarnations are
1. Hanuman(during lord Ram)
2.Bhima (during Lord Krishna)
3.Madhwacharya (during Lord Vedavyasa)
He is considered to be the greatest devotee of Lord Vishnu. So whenever Lord vishnu took incarnation , Vayudeva(Hanuman) took birth in one or the other forms to be with him.
According to vaishnav philosophy Vayudeva is consered to be second in line after Lord Vishnu and Matha Laxmi. And all the Gods come after them.
it is also believed that the present lord Vayudeva is the future Lord Brahma when Lord Brahma attain moksha. Hence it is always told to pray him as he is the future creator of this world.
One can read literatures by Shri Madwacharya if more insights are needed about this.

Lord Hanuman is incarnation of Rudra ( lord Shiva) He has got the blessing to be immortal. I’ll tell you a real incident which happened to me when i was in mahad ( MAHARASHTRA,INDIA).I wanted to visit Raigad Fort, whichis aroung 25 km from Mahad. approx 15-20 km of this stretch is Ghat section ( mountain section) may be around 5 to 6 thousand feet above sea level. I asked one of my uncle to give me his motorcycle so that i can go there, my uncle told me that the motorcycle is giving problem and will automatically gets shut down after travelling some distance. and you cannot reach the fort. But i instited for the Bike and he finally gave me, i encountered the problem which my uncle have told me, for a stretch of five km the bike was shut off at least 10 times and the ghat section was about to begin, I prayed to lord Hanuman that now the ghat section is starting and i want to rach top so pl. ensure that the bike dosent stops. and to the surprise the bike did’t give any problem till i return the bike to my uncle in the evening, and when my uncle tried to use the bike the sam e problem again started.
so this is the grace of lord. if you pray him with your pure heart he will difinetely help you.
