Amitabh Bachchan is no Marlon Brando

And Abhishek Bachchan is no Al Pacino. I have seen Godfather in parts and Ramu has apparently said that the movie Sarkar is based on his inspiration from Godfather. It gives a feel of being based on Bal Thackeray. In my opinion, the movie sucks. Amitabh just does not give me the feeling what Brando has given in Godfather. The characters are weak.

The villains are as usual are even more pathetic. For a movie to look good, you have to have the villain have a better persona than the hero. Matrix Trilogy was one good example for this theory. The best role in the movie I guess is off the side actors especially Rukhsar who also played the love interest of the main guy in D.

We kept thinking about where we had seen that character before and it came to the memory after we left for home from the DT Cinemas. Now, the next movie I am seriously waiting for is Mangal Pandey : The Rising, which I hope, is a much better effort. I seriously am in need of watching a real good movie. The last decent movie I saw was indeed Hitch.

The problem with Sarkar is not the villans persona. The problem is that Amitabh who should have been shown as a gangster ( maybe a reluctant one like the godfather) is shown otherwise. The script falls apart thereon.

    I think… there’s a major need of smellng fresh coffee dude !

I found Sarkar as a amazingly fine movie and almost who ever I met, they had almost same opinion ! RGV said, “Inspired” and he didn’t say “copied” ! you see, he actually wanned to show the grandios and effect bal thakrey (nagre) has over the people ! If you go with the flow of the moive you might realize the crisp sharp editing and variety and power of silence RGV showed.. ! Just a fantastic movie ! sorry i had to differ .

Amitabh is 65 years old. Lets see when srk is 65. forget having takers would he get FILMS?>???

Regarding Brando, again i would like to say if Marlon Brando was indian would you guys be talking about him??? Just because he is from hollywood we automatically assume he is GREAT. The problem is we accept blindly that whatever comes from the WEST is better than us.

If Marlon Brando was INDIAN, born in INDIA, working in Bollywood movies, Noone would be talking about him. This is the truth!
