We are a hosting company inmUmbai and offer Powervps VPS to our clients. Their service is very good as it is fully managed by Indians - at least in the day time.

However their servers have very heavy downtime. Hacking into servers is very common. And they will balme us for not adhering to safetuy and security policies to avoid having into servers.

A lousy company.

Please suggest me another good comapny

I would encourage everyone to consider avoiding Defender Hosting, PowerVPS, and all those busineses operated by Defender Tech Group. The owner of the company, Tom Kiblin, stole a valuable domain name of mine several years ago.

Specifically, Thomas Kiblin stole a domain name from a former employer when that employer went bankrupt, by frauduluently transferring it to a different registrar. This is a process known as domain name hijacking. Then Tom used PrivateRegistration services to prevent people from reading the WHOIS registration data. What Kiblin didnt know at the time he stole the domain, was that I had a contract in place to buy the domain from the court-appointed trustee who was handling the sale of the assets of the bankrupt company. Bottom line: he cost me a lot of money.

I currently have reason to believe that his partner in crime, Charles Galpin, is harboring the stolen domain in his private account.

When i contact Kiblin about the theft he just joked about it and claimed "if he hadnt taken it, someone else would have". What scum!

Also notable was that the company was a victim of massive credit card fraud - probably not committed by the owners. Read more at http://www.news.com/2100-7349_3-6057305.htm

Do you really want your private data at a company that not only steals the property of small business owners, but also has their security so easily compromised by other crooks? Avoid these guys like the plague.

I ended up buying my own servers and hiring a support technician to run it. Can't trust any host today - all seem to be more or less evil. All these popular forums are run by hosting companies and they help each other to abuse the end user and to do evil things to us consumers and small business owners.
