PowerVPS Problems
For the second time in 4 months, this company has somewhat disappointed me. All of a sudden the server started showing so much load that the sites went down big time. The response was as usual, the sites are consuming way too much resources! Strangely, a day before everything was apparently all right.
The suggestion was to move on to a bigger package. Does not sound like a great move to me considering the sites on the server are low traffic and should not cause so much havoc. I think, moving on is a better idea. Whether, it is a marketing ploy or not… We would never know.

If you are still having problems, email the helpdesk and ask that me, David, or Rob review your ticket, we'll do what we can and get your issues resolved.
Thanks!

is fine, but it's the fact. I'm not sure if it has something to do with it, but I'm just posting it as fact. Today almost all (but not all) my sites failed. They were completely not opening. In some weird way. Explanation by support was that Spam Assassin was using 25% of my memory space..... So? What does downtime of some of my sites have to do with spam assasin? I never enabled Spam Assassin, by the way. Also my webmail is inaccessible all day long. I no more have access to it and I received zero emails today after the sites went down. Someone either changed my mail password or someone is in there right now or whatever the problem is. No response about it and no explanation. I have no idea how to fix it myself. As usual I'm being sent some technical language that I have no idea how to read or understand. I have many websites hosted at PowerVPS, but even if I hate to move, I will have to. I'm upgrading for more and more space, but it seems like there's no ceiling. My sites have very few visitors, not very popular.

Specifically, Thomas Kiblin stole a domain name from a former employer when that employer went bankrupt, by frauduluently transferring it to a different registrar. This is a process known as domain name hijacking. Then Tom used PrivateRegistration services to prevent people from reading the WHOIS registration data. What Kiblin didnt know at the time he stole the domain, was that I had a contract in place to buy the domain from the court-appointed trustee who was handling the sale of the assets of the bankrupt company. Bottom line: he cost me a lot of money.
I currently have reason to believe that his partner in crime, Charles Galpin, is harboring the stolen domain in his private account.
When i contact Kiblin about the theft he just joked about it and claimed "if he hadnt taken it, someone else would have". What scum!
Also notable was that the company was a victim of massive credit card fraud - probably not committed by the owners. Read more at http://www.news.com/2100-7349_3-6057305.htm
Do you really want your private data at a company that not only steals the property of small business owners, but also has their security so easily compromised by other crooks? Avoid these guys like the plague.

However their servers have very heavy downtime. Hacking into servers is very common. And they will balme us for not adhering to safetuy and security policies to avoid having into servers.
A lousy company.
Please suggest me another good comapny
