Update: As usual. I mailed Airtel Management Guys. Instant action after that. Everything done within a couple of hours. It was so fast that I was not prepared to handle it.
I am not sure if I am alone. Folks on the India Broadband Forum have been saying this for sometime now.
Airtel Broadband customer care has become practically useless now. Call in for a plan change, it can take more than a week before your speeds are changed.
I called in last week asking them to shift my connection. Almost a week has passed, nothing has been done.
I was told it would be done in three days. The latest deadline was yesterday. I called in again today and I am told that it would be done by next Wednesday.
That makes it more than 10 days after the first request was filed.
If this is how they are treating their customers now… I am pretty sad to say that I have lost my faith in Airtel when it comes to broadband.

Came back here to post my experience. Yesterday evening, the wiring outside my house was damaged by the damned pigeons. They nibbled it off till it almost broke.
Called them yesterday night for this.
A guy was at my door at 11 in the morning. He went on the roof, fixed it in 10 minutes flat, left.
Everybody was polite and normal as usual. Provided me a case number, etc.
Hi, Airtel's field staff are good. the problem is always with thier call center which is fully outsourced now.
In case of any issues write a mail to their Nodal officer that works very well
and additionally follow up calls from their office.
