Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani Review!
This is not going to be a formal review. But a rant piece instead.
A lot has been spoken about this movie in the recent times.
Rajkumar Santoshi directed this one.
He apparently wanted this to become a huge hit so he went ahead and said something like…
Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is funnier than Andaz Apna Apna.
I am not sure what was going on in his mind when he said something like this.
Can he really hope to top Andaz Apna Apna in this lifetime? I doubt so. His name is associated with these movies that were made after AAA: Barsaat, China Gate, Pukar and Lajja.
I also checked out several other sources for reviews of this movie. Times of India gave it a 4! They do not give out a 4 rating to terrible movies. The Wikipedia page of this movie is full of favorable reviews given out by well known critics.
So, I decided to check this movie out. Despite it having:
Ranbir Kapoor
Katrina Kaif
Upen Patel
Salman Khan appears in the movie in a special appearance role.
The movie? It turned out to be a disaster. I mean if I had not heard the good reviews and the claims made by Santoshi, I might have found it to be average. But after expecting something from this one, I came out totally disappointed.
I would like to hear your views on this one. I really have lost my faith in all the movie critics in this country. Looks like Tips decided to spend more money on them than on creating a good movie.
The movie was too predictable and very unrealistic. Luckily it did have few funny moments. I wanted to leave the hall in the interval, but my friends somehow liked it.
