it's true, i too saw one in navi mumbai roads. these werent trucks or golawalas these were google vans

That could be false as well because the person might have confused with a TV channel's car, as it also looks almost the same.

I saw a camera mounted on a maruthi van in bangalore. Thought it was google's street view representative but soon found out it was one of the popular indian companies known as vidteq.com offering street view in internet.

I'm very sceptical that India is not letting Google taking photos. Instead, unscrupulous company working for the Indian goverment would retouch photos with Photoshop =/
