Just got it today. And I am loving it.
It does everything what I expected it to do. And more.
The only thing it does not do I guess is connecting to the network. And of course running media files which are zipped.

Obviously your needs are much different than mine. The *first* thing I would expect it to do is connect to my network, and hope that it has both wired and wireless network interfaces. Then I would hope that I would be able to ssh into it. Then I would hope that it would cache the media files while streaming rather than lag the video. And as it's an HD media player, I would think of ways to use its processing power when it is sitting idle.. I wonder which OS it uses.
ya, networking is what sets back this capable player. The EG-M34A (popcorn A-110 clone with networking features, see http://www.egreathd.com) is cutting very close to WD TV price advantage.
