I am trying to get used to IBM Lotus Symphony but I find it rather painful to use compared to let’s say OpenOffice.
One of the biggest eccentricity is that I cannot define my choice of file format for saving the files.
It would either let me use MS Office formats or OpenOffice formats. I prefer to use RTF for documents and this requires me to manually select the option every time.
I find OpenOffice much more refined even though Symphony is practically OpenOffice with IBM shit over it.
Another insane thing is that the installer did not allow me just to install selected components. It just has an option for choosing the installation location. Other than that, nothing.
As a user of Symphony, I can sympathize with you! The entire Lotus suite including Notes sucks big time. They have tried to copy Outlook's look & feel but couldn't even do that properly!
