I have no fucking idea why they have such a good reputation. I agree that Tim is a nice guy… pretty helpful too. But the downtimes I have faced with ASO are no way impressing me. Infact, some of the local guys here in India have given me better uptimes.

Finally! Someone who thinks so too! I moved to ASO, and refrained from Dreamhost because I have corporate clients hosted with me and need reliability. ASO has been dismal. It almost seems like they might have full-time staff writing good informal reviews of them on the web.
It’s a bloody hassle, but I’m thinking of moving.

Their server has been insanely slow 5 times this week. Tim, the owner says it is because someone ran a bad script and it chewed up all of the system resources. His only recourse was to move me to a different server.

well that was my life on shared hosting servers. i suggest you look into grid hosting or a cheap dedicated.
