Google and Airtel Broadband

I have been noticing some weird happenings with Airtel in the recent days. No, they have not yet dropped down my speeds to 256kbps which I expect them to do any given moment now. The company still claims that the Airtel Fair Usage Policy is not applied in Delhi NCR region.

Pings to my own server and on Google.com have increased a lot in the last couple of days. Earlier it used to hover at around 330-350ms. Today, it fails to go below 400ms. Access to some of the international sites has been weird for me. Some sites take way too much time to load. I am using OpenDNS by the way.

Anyways, I had like your comments on your recent experiences with Airtel Broadband! And also… do not forget to check out: Petition against Airtel Fair Usage Policy.

This website uses IntenseDebate comments, but they are not currently loaded because either your browser doesn't support JavaScript, or they didn't load fast enough.

I am using Linux and every time I install linux in my box, first thing I do is configure local dns caching, you can try configuring local dns cache following this article. This will help resolving dns names very very fast. As opendns is not hosted in our country, I just have it as an alternative and enable when airtel dns does not work.

I donno how to do (caching dns locally) this in windows
