Update

Airtel turned out to be yet another of the crappy Indian companies which do not care about their customers. The Airtel Fair Usage Policy is turning out to be a disaster. And their IPTV service is turning out to be an expensive beta service with me as one of the sufferers.

I am a sucker for Airtel branded services. Except for mobile services though. I am happy with Tata Indicom there (shocking!).

Airtel has been a godsend for me when it comes to broadband services. They came when I was struggling to cope up with the shocks of Sify Broadband.

And since then, it has been a wonderful journey.

I have been with them for several years now. I have seen downtimes. I have also seen other problems.

But I can bet that the problems I faced with Airtel all these years are nothing compared to what I faced in a month on Sify Broadband.

Now, I am switching to Airtel for my television requirements. Zee Dish TV sucks. Cable TV in my sector? Sucks even bad.

I called up Airtel customer care to get the connection. I failed in my first attempt. Nothing happened for 2 days.

I sent an email to their customer support. And magic happened. Multiple calls within the next 2 hours.

The call center person had promised me connectivity within the next three days. Even if I calculate the delays, they just might be able to fulfill that promise to me.

On a Sunday, a guy came to my place with the form. I finished all the formalities. They are promising to get the wiring work complete by today. And activation by tomorrow morning. And they are continuing to call me every now and then to update with the status of my application.

No other service has shown so much interest in dealing with a single customer till now… That has been my Airtel experience.

Update: Wiring is now complete. And the experience was awesome!
