Cleaning LCD Screen Properly?

I have been lazy cleaning my LCD’s screen and it has now gone pretty dirty. So dirty that a moist soft cloth is not able to clean it.

I just hope I did not scratch the bastard trying to clean it up.

I read the documents online and found out that I can use vinegar or some form of alcohol solution to clean the screen properly.

Now I need to find out where we can find this isopropyl alcohol  thing in the market. I would try out vinegar tomorrow.

Would suck to end up with a damaged monitor in the end. :(

I had the same problem but was surprised to find an extremely light alcohol based cleaning liquid while browsing the shelves of Connexions, Chennai. It also came with a static cloth which does the job pretty neatly. Good stuff - Rs. 190/- Only

i have been to several stores in gurgaon. could not find anything that looked useful.

found some expensive shite worth 700 bucks. that came with a liquid which is essentially a cheap formula. :(

i am almost used to the mess on the screen now. i have learnt to ignore them till i find a solution :p

I have the same problem with my laptop's screen. I'm too scared I might damage it while cleaning myself now. I did check out a cleaning kit from HP at Nehru Place last week, it costs around 450 bucks in the market and seemed pretty neat. It had a solution and some cleaning material. I guess it's got all that alcohol stuff you said.Too bad I was out of cash that time :(
