It is common knowledge that Maruti is finding it hard to meet the demand for the diesel versions of Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift DZIRE.

However, the fact is that Maruti dealers are ready to get you the model of your choice for a premium.

It has happened before. Dealers charging an extra fee to get you the model you want if it is not available readily at other dealerships.

The question here is whether Maruti Suzuki knows about this mess that is widely prevalent in the market? Or are they partners in this crime?

Is the scarcity of Swift (DZIRE) Diesel editions artificial? I really have no clue.

Some of my sources say that the company has enough manufacturing capacity to meet the high demand in the market. They just might not be doing what they should be doing anyways.
