mchek: More Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway Madness

Good god. I tried recharging my Smart Tag using the pathetic OxiCash option.

Can’t. Apparently they are not accepting ICICI Bank accounts any more.

Standard Chartered was never an option.

I do not have an account in any of the other bank accounts they are supporting at the moment.

I checked what other options I had.

Got this mchek. No clue what it is.

I went to their site and registered.

Gave them my credit card details!

Now, I have no clue how do I recharge my smart tag using mchek.

None of the sites have any information.

I called up the call center number and found out that mchek would ‘soon’ be supported.

This is when they are mentioning it in the ‘supported’ options on their website.

Almost a year has passed and they do not have a simple mechanism for me to recharge my smart tag.

I cannot use a Visa or MasterCard. I cannot any longer use my ICICI Bank savings account.

They are annoying me. Forcing me to visit their offices. And those offices are not open 24×7.

Update:

I checked with a friend who had accounts in Kotak and IDBI.

Trying to recharge did not work with Kotak. Something failed in their system.

Finally managed to update using IDBI.

Took the pain and updated my account and recharged the tag to get this message:

“Thanks. Your E-Tag balance will be updated within 48 hours.”

Earlier it used to get updated in 20-30 minutes. Now, they take 2 days. Awesomeness.

Update: OxiCash had this to say about ICICI Bank:

From this week you can top up your wallet through ICICI Bank. Within 2-3 days we are going to start top-up through ICICI Bank.

  2. Hi Sushub,

We at mChek have integrated with DG Toll for smart tag recharge and are currently testing the same. It would be great if you can do a test and let us know your feedback. The action required is for you to send an SMS with the text “MCHEK ” TO 53030.

There seems to be some issue with the website here –

The syntax i typed is getting truncated because i used the “<” symbol.

    Here is the correct syntax:

MCHEK [11 digit Tag No.] [Amount] to 53030

    AIRTEL USERS:

PAYFOR DGTOLL [11 digit Tag No.] [Amount] to 554329 TOLL FREE

    • Sanjay says:

      AIRTEL USERS:

PAYFOR DGTOLL [11 digit Tag No.] [Amount] to 543219 TOLL FREE

Shushubh – as a feedback to your blog, would be great if the person posting the message has an opportunity to preview what is being posted.

    • Sushubh says:

i have added a preview button i guess that would work :)

  8. Sanjay says:

Airtel users – can now recharge DG toll using mChek on Airtel via the IVR channel. Simply by dialing 543219 – its toll free.

Existing mChek users can use this as an alternate channel.

New mChek users will be prompted to register the first time.

    Cheers

    Sanjay, mChek
