Sheila Dikshit wants Delhi to be a boring city?

Sheila Dikshit spoke about the murder of journalist Soumya Viswanathan: “All by herself till 3 am at night in a city where people believe…you know…you should not be so adventurous.”

This is coming from the Chief Minister of Delhi which is going to play host to Commonwealth Games in 2 years.

This is coming from the Chief Minister of Delhi which is the capital city of India. Which is part of Delhi NCR region which is full of call centers which houses thousands of female employees who work at any given time of the day.

I really do not know what to say. The Chief Minister of Delhi is practically saying that Delhi is unsafe for women and she really does not know how to solve the problem.

This is freaking awesome.

mmm. she was using her own vehicle. a company cannot force a security guard to come with you if you are using your own vehicle.

the point is. if you are living in the city and you have to go out at 3 am in the night. where would you find someone to accompany you?

let's say for example. airports. going to the airport is not really an adventrous exercise. yet people are sometimes forced to go to airports at weird hours in the nights.

the thing is. it's not illegal to go out past midnight. and it's the responsibility of the government to make sure people can move freely in the city whether it's day or night.

it's not like she was drunk and was coming back from a pub. she was coming back from her office in perfectly fine condition.

this case is totally different from the one where a firang was found dead on a goa beach.

i don't agree upon that... that's OK that we deserve the security, to be free to go anywhere ,at any time but it doesn't mean that just because we expect something to be done we can put ours or someone Else's life at risk by experimenting such things like going out alone at 3:00 a.m... its the complete responsibility of that company to provide their employs such basic support. If it had been provided then may be this incidence have never happened... but now when something like this has taken place people should be more cautious towards their own security.

no mother or father or brother would allow a lady to drive all by herself at 3 am for the simple reason that the city is unsafe and you really cannot trust the police to do anything.

we are supposed to be living in a civilized society. it's a democracy and people are allowed to work 24x7. and they deserve the security to be free to go where ever they want and at what hour.

if the government takes our taxes for the services it is supposed to be providing, it should be responsible for the mess we live in today.

while i sympathise with the death of soumya.it is sad that the channel is blowing up the comments of the chief minister.she is absolutely right about the state of affairs in the city.no mothet ,father or brother would allow a lady to drive all by herself at 3.00am .In fact i feel that the channel is to be blamed for the death of their employee any decent ,caring employer would provide an escort /transport to their employees who has to travel at this odd hour and help in the prevention of such criminal activities
.All respectable companies who care for their workers should provide them with the basic support. the channel should stop hounding the chief minister and accept their callousness in the welfare of the people who work for them
