airtel broadband internet service is very bad. as i am a new customer and i have been told the speed is 256 kb/s but really i am receiving below 4kb/s. some times this speed is in bytes. i am b.tech student of greater noida. so according to me it is not reliable.

I had BSNL broadband 256Kbps (home500 plan - 2am to 8am unlimited) - man this was awesome, I used the connection for around 10mnts and all of a sudden the server was down and I coundn't use the net for nearly 3mnts. I complained several times but there was no reply from them (the worst nightmare I ever had) I finally decided to cancel the BSNL. I faced problem to get the service back even after I got a mail from the Customer Relation Officer (Nanda - Banaswadi) saying that my money will be credited back and the relevant dept will be notified. Nothing happened, they are bloody least bothered as they are central govt service provider.
I got the reliance broadband connection and initially it was 2Mbps with 4.5GB limit (wireless) I completed 3.9GB within 15days (the speed is awesome but 4.5GB - no good) then I migrated to 150Kbps Unlimited now the streaming videos take ages to load and it's pathetic and it's 750/- per month + 12.36% tax. There's one more plan of 300Kbps with Rs999/- per month which I'm thinking to migrate next month and lets see what happens. I will keep you guys posted on reliance wireless broadband connection.

The Beetel ADSL modem has an ACS (Access Control System) url in it's firmware like:-
The MAC Address is forwarded by default and the firewall is turned on by default.
Although most Eriksson DSLAM switches now support PPPoE, the auto detection feature of most ADSL modems detect PPPoA first if available.
Since Jan 28th, most AirTel users will be getting frequent disconects even when there is no noise on the line and VoIP running on their networks - just more than one machine or just one machine with more than one browser window open is enough to trigger their Packet Inspection Policy for disconnection and reconnection and a change in IP.
Time to build a free wired and wireless community network without bills. Anyone game?

Customer Care will open Complaint Numbers and the tech staff will close it within the day without addressing the issue.
