State Bank of India ATM Madness

Sector 31 Gurgaon. It has developed so much in the past couple of years. We have ATMs of ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Andhra Bank and even Yes Bank. But no State Bank of India.

So, I have to drive to a far off ATM whenever my dad has to withdraw some money. It is a painful experience considering the place where I go to has little space to park during office hours.

So, I decided to drive down there this fine Saturday morning hoping I would complete his work easily.

All went well till the time I tried withdrawing the money. I tried several times, and each time the ATM machine threw a parchee on my face showing an error message (Cannot Withdraw Funds).

I checked the balance. It was good enough. Still no luck.

I guess the machine was out of cash. With no security guard in sight, I had no option but to come back empty handed (actually I had a couple of those slips with the error message).

I come back to hear from dad that the Bank issued two check books on account creation and they went ahead and deducted Rs. 50 for the second one. This was neither requested nor required.

Awesomeness.
