Barclaycard in India

So the company issued me a card without much of a hassle. It has become a hassle for me considering I cannot really locate a drop box where I can drop in the payment checks for using this card.

I also fail to see any option to access my credit card account online on their website. Though they do issue a pin to take out money from any ATM machine. That feature is useless for me.

I guess I would avoid using this card and would stick with my Standard Chartered one!

They added me in prioroty circle but till date i didnt get any msg from BCC regarding any kind of benifit, When they call me for adding in priority cicle their person told me they have so many schemes for Priority Circle users but till date ......As other complains.........So Can I say they ARE........Cheater...Or ....Fraud....and......

barclay card is the very froud card i think i have many card but barcaly card is the biggest froud.

wish and josh ple move to hdfc and co oprative bank if possible rather than barcaly card bank card

Hi frd i have barclay before six month i got the credit card limit above 25000 thousand and now it only 9000 thousand.

ye to ho gayi credit card ki bat customer wale kahte hai ki securtity ke liye kuch monthly payment dena padega agar kuch chori wagar ho jata hai to to customer ko dena nahi padega .

I got a card from Barclays and I did not want to activate it immediately. Now I am trying to locate the number at Bangalore to activate it and seems impossible. The number 6000 4444 is perpetually busy and the number 1800 ******* never is being picked up. Kindly provide me details as to how to activate it.

I have been using Credit Cards for 10 years and Barclays is the worst. Their payment options are limited. They lost my cheque in collection and then started pounding me with late payment fees..etc.

I have written 7 emails and still no reply. They expect you to call them and then they would keep you on hold till eternity.

Pls dont get into this quagmire and use other alternatives

I, (Mr. Sombuddha Mukherjee) hereby informed that my Barclaycard no is xxxxxxxxxxxx. I had received call from 0124 code for the information about Barclaycard Priority Circle. Many times such calls are coming but due to Rs.5000/- charges, I was always rejecting this membership. But on that day, the calling person was given me all the information about Barclaycard Priority Circle at that time he told me this membership is absolutely free for you and for this membership you need not to pay Rs.5000/-. This is absolutely free for selected customer like you. Due to this reason, I agreed for the membership of Barclaycard Priority Circle.

But, when I got the SMS FROM 9867046500 Barclaycard statement bill of November 12, 2008. I was shocked because in that statement Barclaycard Priority Circle LE fee Rs. 6732.31/- was debited in my account. And I found that, I was cheated by the calling person of the Barclay card. After that I was called to Barclaycard Priority Circle helpline number 022-40162380 and I gave my complaint, then he told that, you have to wait for 72 hrs. Then after 4 days again I have contacted to the same number, service person said me we are recording your call at that time when you were talking with sales executive from this call, we are not canceling you Barclaycard Priority Circle membership charge. At that time I said I want to listen that record but he said me this facility is not available here, he was not satisfying me. I was also called to our Barclaycard customer service center, I was explained these entire thing then he was given me my complaint no CAS 696601 dated – 17/11/08 talk with Arvindar. And also talk with Manica Chawla on 18
.11.2008. not ready to transfer my call to sr authority or quality department and disclose the name of the sr person. Complaint No.200003648

Sir, I am requesting you to please find that calling person, who was given me wrong information, cheated me which is not good for Barclay card service. I am a regular customer of your card but now I and my friends are very unhappy by your service and so we have decided that we will not use the Barclay card hereafter.
I am requesting you to please cancel my Barclaycard Priority Circle membership. I am not interested in it at the cost of Rs.6732.31/-. And Now they have starting charges interest on debit amount Please suggest.

I am also facing the same issue with Barclay Priority Circle, when they were called and told me that the transportation and accomdation free like that, but when I collect the application it says only the accomdation. I asked them to cancel it, but they said it is not possible, please help me how to proceed further. I have already sent mail to customer care executive.

This is for your kind information, that I am really unhappy with the
complete service as they started a fraud department called as BarclayCard
Priority Circle, which has charged me Rs 6000/- on my card for nothing. I called up so may times, I didn't get any service and no proper response,
so finally felt cheated and lost hope and requested for removal from BarclayCard Priority Circle. As per policy I did this with in 21 days as
stated in the statement published as I didn't what this service which never
was there. I was so much frustrated as this was really pathetic service where in Barclay Card became a partner to steal money from its Credit

thin Air, without giving any service and started becoming a partner to
cheating with name of gift which was never there and providing a non reachable Telephone Numbers provided from all your dam stupid centers.

As a Card holder I am at the receiving end for this injustice. So I c Wrote a written letter to the Membership and also told that I WOULD NOT be a part of this Fraud pay.

Sub : Debited my Barclays Credit Card A/C without confirmation

I am a Barclaycard holder (CARD NO: 4339 *** 3644) was offered an invitation to priority circle membership which according to my understanding was offered FREE of Cost and never mention any charge being debited my account. More over he told me that they would be sending the details within 15 days and after reading the full details you can decide to sign it and send the form to their Mumbai office. But I did not get any mail from the Bank till the date.
Now they have debited my Credit card account a total amount of 6741.60 (Rs. 6000/- as Priority Circle fee plus Service Tax of Rs. 741.60/-) and sent a statement dated on 19-Nov-2008 to my email id and through postal also. This amount is debited without any confirmation from the me.
I replied to the services@barclaycard.com on dated. 25.11.2008 for reversing the amount but there is no reply till the date.
I have contacted the Customer Service care No. 022 6724 2222 and requested to REVERSE the amount. They wanted the information about my Card no, Date of Birth, Address and Mobile Number and told their Bangalore Customer care N0.41739811. I have contacted the Customer Service care No in Bangalore 41739811 three times. They are telling that they are unaware of this and they don’t have the provision to cancel this. Also they are not telling the official address of the Customer care service in Bangalore.
At last, I sent one courier to their Nariman point address by stating to reverse the amount. But no response from their side.
In this regard I am requesting Consumer complaints officials should take actions against BARCLAYCARD priority circle on this issue.
Please help me to reverse the amount from my account.

This is Vishal H. Surve holding Barclay Credit Card no. xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx from Mumbai . I had received call from Barclaycard priority few day’s back. The caller told me that they are offering some facilities to selected Barclaycard holders, which offers free holiday stay with our listed hotels, discounts on shopping from our listed shops etc.
I suppose that they are offering me because I have use the same Credit Card first time and they are offering just to encourage my purchasing with this Credit Card. I ask to the caller if you are offering me the same facility free of cost that kindly provide me the same.
After this I have received one conformation call. This time other caller ask me about my Birthdate,my address,Cell no. Etc
and he had finish without providing my any idea about joining fee, terms and rules for the cancellation of the same service if any.

After receiving statement of Barclays Credit Card came to know that the same offer is availed me by debiting my Credit Card.
On 17/11/08 I had talk with Barclaycard priority customer care regarding the same and they told me to contact on 19/11/08 for feedback.
on 19/11/08 when I call to the Barclaycard priority customer care they inform me that they have check the conversation of caller who offers me the same offer which was in the correct manner & you have given your consent. Now how do I come to know that it’s true. There is no transference between the transaction what is forced on me to pay.
Now i am receiving almost every day one call from different different caller of Barclay collations Dept. who are forcing me to pay Barclays Credit Card Priority Circle Service fee Rs. 6,000/- and the Service Tax Rs. 741.60.

I am the Barclay card holder, experience within 2M is very bad in terms of cheating customer with Barclaycard Priority Circel Membership offer debited Rs.6000 which was not informed, also late feeof Rs.741 & Rs.600 within a month.. how will customer pay w/o receive of statement and Rs.6000 is not acceptable,never expected such attitude from reputed organization behave like Baniya, No transparency..full of cheater..No accessbility..Poor response from Executives ..sorry..first time experienced with any credit card company..SBI, HSBC,ICICi is really customer centric & transperant and has never cheat customer to earn money with no transformation

3. Sir, everything is ok from our end. I think there is some technical issue with your card.
4. regarding address that will be updated within 7 working days.
5. Regardsing address, it will get updated within 20 days.
6. Sir, I promise you will be not let down.
7. Sir, I am taking a complaint that why even person visited your place the things have not got updated.
8. Sir, we could not help you as in system still the old address persists.
9. sir, we can only take request. We cannot assure you it will be done only.
10. Sir, please try and understand we can’t do anything in that.

Is BARCLAYS is company with no system. Then why you people are making such kind of advertisement that we are always a customer friendly company and all that false promises.

After getting hurt by service provided by your BANK. I decided to write this e-mail. During this duration I thought the situation will change one day. But not to my surprise things remains same.

I bought Barclay card in December 2007.the card no was xxxx.I was happy as it was my first credit card.
I had lots of plans and also initially I wanted to present myself a gift a laptop which I dreamt of.

Now a day only few people have the cash along with them while shopping. I too decided to go with the credit card.

I purchased and got to know about the EMI option which helps to repay your credited amount. God knows what the calculation which u people follow is.

Tax and charges on everything. Even though m giving u the payment of my outstanding, still one has to pay service tax on that.

This is the first time I came to know that people charge oneself, even he is paying the actual amount which is need to be paid.

I shifted company in March 2008, I changed my Residence in April 2008. That moment the ordeal started. I was always behind the bank to change my new address. The people from bank came to verify and to take the necessary documents. This all drama started from April and to the surprise still today it is continuing. Its, November, 2008 now.

Is this much time is required to get the vital information updated????

I Lost Card. The new card issued to me was xxxx.

For receiving this card I have to take holiday to get this card as it was scheduled by your people to be posted on old address. I was not able to make a single transaction by this card, there was technical issue. God knows what that is. Every time it was coming transaction declined for unknown reason. I have been embarrassed many times in malls and other shopping venues. Beside confirming with your executives that this card wont fail.

I used to always confirm, before making any purchases. But from your side the reply was same. That everything is in place and I can go ahead with the purchase.

From March onwards I have never received your statement(hardcopy) as request for the change regarding the home and work place both was given from my side.

You warn us all the time that call is being monitored for training and record purposes. So I request you to check all the records of mine calling your customer care from March onwards.

Also worth mentioning that around September I made purchase and outstanding amount was 18,000. I paid 15,000 but still in the next bill you people added 600 Rs. As an interest. It is 30% of an outstanding.

Also in the current bill of period Oct,2008 to Nov, 2008 the outstanding was 8708.45 Rs. I made the payment of Rs. 8700. On Rs. 8.45 balance. You have charge me 204 Rs as interest charges and also 12.36% service tax for that.

How can you justify this???????

After taking this matter to your customer care executive. They are telling they cant assure to rectify the mistake.

I have really got fed up with all the service of yours and also after my last EMI which is month of DECMEBER. I request you to close my card. And I don’t ever want to keep any kind of relationship with your BANK.

Also, take at least care of your customers and the money which you take as interest is earned after very much hard work and burning ones blood in office and at sites.

So, don’t let any one to curse. As now a days good thought for someone doesn’t work but the counter part does.

One of the dirtiest services ever come across. Posted 4 cheques at buton down shirts, mg road indore and till date do not know what hadhappened to those cheques. Met the banking personnel at Indore to register complaint but no body responded. Just careless. Lodged a complaint to the services team but no reply.Request to let me know the procedure atleast to surrender the card for which I shiuld be grateful to the great Barclay team.

I am also a unfortunate user of Barclay CC. It is a mightmare...They are charging the interest even if you pay the entire statement amount in full and well before the due date. You have to call their non reaching customer care number multiple times but no garauntee of any success.
Check carefully before making the payment.

I am a Barclay Credit card holder and I am very much dissatisfied by the Calls that are made on the behalf of Barclays Bank, there executives (from Call Centres) keep on disturbing by making false calls/ they call me but never say a single word.

Today I received 17 calls till 01:36 pm (05.08.08) if I don't respond to that they will disturb my family .

so I am suffering very much due to this.

I'm using barclay card for the past 3 months. Till now I have very satisfactory experience. I got the card without any hassels and I'm regualrly paying my bill using their billdesk facility from their site.
There is one thing lagging here is ... they don't have online fecility to look for our credit card account details like ABN Amro. By far I'm happy with this card.

I am a resident of Indore City. I want to move your attention on your credit card offering methods to customers in Indore city by your telecallers.

From last two days some telecallers from your bank calling me for credit card. I said to all of them that i already get call from your bank for credit card & they all said that please give your documents to our executive. I am totally confused that to whom i gave the documents. Today one of executive come from your bank and just take my signatures on some forms, when i asked him about rest of the details, he said that you get a call from bank & they will ask about the rest of the details. But i am waiting but there is no phone call from your bank. The executive which is come for documents asked me to mail my credit card statement(other bank credit card) on some mail id 'umang_999me@yahoo.co.in' for verification. Also your bank executive doesn’t having any ID Proof of Barclay Bank.

On same day(i.e. today) i received another 2-3 calls from your banks about the credit card & i said that i already provide the documents to executive, then they are blaming me that why are you provide documents to that executive, we are sending you our executive. Each time a new telecallers calling & saying that we are sending our telecallers. How can i rely on your bank executives.

I have given my important documents to your executive, i don't know if he is executive of your bank or not. I am already using Credit Cards of ICICI, SBI, UTI & HDFC banks, but i never face this type of inconvenience.

I am very much dissatisfied from services of Barclay Bank. They have to improve their telecallers. I know that Barclay Bank is very Big brand. But these type of inconvenience will loose customers. In my office daily your telecallers call for credit cards, but no one is interested in Barclay Bank credit cards, because telecallers does not have ability to convince the customers. They not able to tell the facilities given by bank's credit card. We have to ask them that what are the features of your credit card.
