Open Letter to ICICI Bank
Hi
I have been an ICICI Bank account holder for around 7-8 years now. But never before you have been such a pain in the ass for me.
It took me 20 minutes today to submit a USD currency check. This is when it would have taken me 2 minutes to submit an INR currency check.
I am not sure what signal you are sending me when I have to wait in line for 20 minutes to DEPOSIT A CHECK and in the end I do not even get a proof copy because the Photostat machine in your bank is non functional.
It’s a bank and they do not even have a Xerox machine that works? Amazing. Especially when you require me to have Rs. 10,000 minimum balance in my account.
I think I have had enough. I would close down my DMAT account as soon as it is possible for me to do so. I would then proceed ahead and close down my Savings account as well.
I would move to another bank that I hope would treat me at least 1% better. Because that would be less painful.
Sushubh
Update: I have ranted enough about ICICI Bank. But today was different. I applied for a new account in Standard Chartered. And am transferring all of my spare funds to it. ICICI can have its Rs. 10,000 which it requires from me as mandatory minimum balance.
It feels great to have done something about the problem with the ICICI Bank. I am stuck with them due to the DMAT account I have with them. But at least I would have an option now to do my regular banking chores.
The only fear now is that I might end up starting ranting about Standard Chartered now!
