Pita,

But the 14th March 2008 event wasn't really peaceful in Lhasa, how can you judge the burning and killing happened in Lhasa on that day? The Tibetans on that day weren't specially "peaceful", were they?

I agree & more importantly support Tibetan movement, why? because that the only freedom movement that has largely been non-violent.

When I look at middle east conflict marred by endless cycle of violence, terrorism, fear, death - I can just shake my head. I see that there is no one I can truly support... Same is the case repeated in dozen of places.

But when I look at Tibetan freedom movement, I can truly see that, Yes there are people in this world, who have have chosen a right path which is so much more noble than choosing violence.

How can I justify killing innocent Israelis at the hands of Palestinian suicide bombers or how can I justify Israeli tanks mowing down entire colonies & making 100s of innocent people homeless.

But I can surely justify 1000s of Tibetans demonstrating peacefully against the Chinese.

And today Pranab reminded Dalai Lama not to carry out any political activity in India. And reminded him that he is a 'respected guest'. How insulting. I am really dissapointed. Tibetian movement is the only movement of its kind - run with peace. We need to support it to keep the world sane. And they are part of our lives. Else, let violence rule if we have no time for such a cause.
