Tibet and Beijing Olympics
Baichung Bhutia turned out be brave while Gurbachan Singh Randhawa turned out to be a wuss! #
Bhutia has refused to carry the Olympic torch saying: ‘‘I sympathize with the Tibetan cause. I have many friends in Sikkim who follow Buddhism. This is my way of standing by the people of Tibet and their struggle. I abhor violence in any form.’’
For once, I am proud of you mate!
Randhawa had this excuse: ‘‘I have received an invitation to run with the Olympic torch and I will proudly do it. I know about what is going on in Tibet but the Indian government is not protesting. So why should I?’’
Umm… Be a man. Form your own opinions!
Suresh Kalmadi, president of the IOA of course has no idea on what is going on: ‘‘The fax has not reached me as yet since I’m not in my office”.
Just read on Aamir Khan’s blog. He is going to carry the torch. I am so disappointed.

Great going by Baichung. I hope India simply refuses to carry the torch. China doesn’t deserve it anyways.
They asked India for assurance that the olympic stretch run in India would be okay but they didn’t call India to visit and check conditions in Tibet but called silly little fake countries like Singapore?!? Ballocks!
India should put out a notice that they did not like this move by China at all and can’t garunatee that the Olympic stretch in India will be without turmoil. We don’t need to keep sucking up everywhere. Cheers to Baichung. You rock! And yeh, Fuck China. I’d just like to peronally say that you’re the biggest dick country on earth… you far from deserve to hold the olympics.. that’s a joke.
Free Tibet ..

And today Pranab reminded Dalai Lama not to carry out any political activity in India. And reminded him that he is a ‘respected guest’. How insulting. I am really dissapointed. Tibetian movement is the only movement of its kind - run with peace. We need to support it to keep the world sane. And they are part of our lives. Else, let violence rule if we have no time for such a cause.

I agree & more importantly support Tibetan movement, why? because that the only freedom movement that has largely been non-violent.
When I look at middle east conflict marred by endless cycle of violence, terrorism, fear, death - I can just shake my head. I see that there is no one I can truly support… Same is the case repeated in dozen of places.
But when I look at Tibetan freedom movement, I can truly see that, Yes there are people in this world, who have have chosen a right path which is so much more noble than choosing violence.
How can I justify killing innocent Israelis at the hands of Palestinian suicide bombers or how can I justify Israeli tanks mowing down entire colonies & making 100s of innocent people homeless.
But I can surely justify 1000s of Tibetans demonstrating peacefully against the Chinese.

Pita,
But the 14th March 2008 event wasn’t really peaceful in Lhasa, how can you judge the burning and killing happened in Lhasa on that day? The Tibetans on that day weren’t specially “peaceful”, were they?
