Perhaps the biggest political irony in the world today!

People say the fact that Sonia Gandhi, an Italian by birth could have become the Prime Minister of India shows the strength and the maturity of the great Indian democracy.

Agreed, but the biggest irony of the happenings of the past few days has to be this fact that India and Pakistan considered 2 of the most ferocious rivals in the world have their head of government born in the other country…

And add to that, Mr. Manmohan Singh is Sikh, our president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam is Muslim. This is one proud day for the secular Indian Democracy! Can’t get better than that!

Oh, wait. Laloo as our Railways Minister? That is kind of ultra ironic. Bihar is known for the crimes on its railways. Maybe something good happen as a result!

laloo has not in my opinion does much good for the railways. they still suck at serving the customers.

the only thing he did for more revenues is increasing the loading capacities of the cargo trains.

haha...so true...all communities live together in peace or i would rather say not in peace but they live together..Sonia Gandhi being a Prime Minister is sumthng i wdnt have appreciated myself but if u see other countries they dont make this an issue....a fact was that Mahendra Choudhary was the prime minister of fiji and the only International Sportsman Fijis produced is an indian and they are proud of him...THE PGA CHAMPION.....Vijay Singh.....so are we...atleast hezzz indian origin....but Lalloo Is a hero....wat a guy...he got da railways from loss to 100 % profit.....if he wd have been a ceo of some company...he wd have been offered a percentage stake in da company.....lets not always make him a joker...hezzz a HERO too

Just trying to make a point. As a civilization, India has allowed generations of bandits, conquerers, rulers, despots to rule over us. We have not given a damn as long as our individual houses are in order. Its only after the British did we even become one country. So why shud any of us be bothered who is at the political helm. The stupid ones amongst us who do raise a voice well wud be left looking stupid or dead. Our so called political leadership sets the example. For each role they have a unique version of merit - for PM, Gandhi , for education and jobs - backward class, for getting any work done - bribes. Manmohan Singh is great as a Finance minister - but not as a PM, but he was a good compromise candidate. Point is whatever suits convenience. And we as voters are the biggest fools in voting these loonies to power each election term.

We can always vote with the feet and leave the country. Lets face it - that has been the reality. So if Sonia Gandhi is part of the Gandhi family she has all the right to be the PM....any member of the Gandhi family perhaps. But if you are unfortunate to be an Upper Caste middle class person aspiring to be something - its smarter to leave the country. Because one reservations come into play God knows what more will follow.
